Jay Shrila Prabhupada!
As August 2015 marks the 50th anniversary since His Divine Grace Abhay Charan Bhaktivendanta Swami, Shrila Prabhupada, boarded the Jaladuta cargo ship from Kolkatta to New York, USA which was to become the most historical event for creating a world revolution, we recollect some of the instructions Shrila Prabhupada gave to his disciples for preaching in Singapore then.
“I am very pleased with your activities there and advise you to go on kirtana. You say there is a small community taking part in kirtana and prasadam distribution, so try to increase it as far as possible, according to time and place in the situation you find in Singapore”…Letter to Vidyapati (27 Jan 1977)
“I am very glad to receive your letter dated 8/7/74 from Singapore. I am very pleased that you have gone to that place simply on my order, alone, to preach the message of Lord Chaitanya.”…Letter to Bhurijana (17 Aug 1974)
To serve and not to be served is the constitutional position of the jiva, the living entity. Forgetting his real eternal nature, the conditioned soul becomes the false master of the material world. He plays the role of God and tries to enjoy his senses in every way – imaginable and unimaginable. Though he tries very hard to be the supreme enjoyer, in reality the conditioned soul becomes a completely bound slave of Maya. Ironically, the more one strives for lordship, freedom, and pleasure, the more he increases his bondage of servitude (slavery).
Shrila Prabhupada revealed our true long lost identity, “O lost soul! Verily, my dear friend, you are actually the eternal servant of the Supreme Lord Krsna (jivera svarupa haya krsnera nitya-dasa).”
Shrila Prabhupada revealed to this mortal world that we are all like fish out of water and no matter how comfortable we may make our situations; we can never find true happiness here. Because we are not this material body or mind or intelligence but spirit souls who belong to the spiritual world where we can find, ever increasing, eternal bliss in the loving devotional service to Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krsna.
Shrila Prabhupada through his translations of Bhagvad Gita, Shrimad Bhagvatam, Caitanya Caritamrita and many more books with his illuminating purports revealed to the conditioned souls of this material world, the beautiful personal form of GOD as sat-cit-ananda vigraha. And that bhakti (translated as to pure loving devotional service) is the only means to understand that Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krsna. Thereby he gave to the world the Maha-mantra “Hare Krsna Hare Krsna Krsna Krsna Hare Hare, Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare” as the means to achieve pure love of Godhead.
As Shrila Bhakti Vinoda Thakura wrote in his Sajjona-tosani, “Soon there will be a time when the chanting of Krishna’s name will be heard in England, France, Russia, Germany and America.” Shrila Prabhupada was sent by the Lord to fulfill Caitanya Mahaprabhu’s prediction- “prtvithe ache yata nagaradi grama, sarvatra pracara haibe more nama”: In every town and village of the world, My name will be heard.
Shrila Prabhupada appeared on Nandotsava; Nandotsava means: Nanda Maharaja’s huge festival celebrating Krishna’s birth. Shrila Prabhupada appeared to fulfill the mission of Lord Krishna. Shrila Prabhupada grew up as a pure devotee of the Lord and was fully empowered by the Lord to distribute Krishna Consciousness everywhere. Shrila Prabhupada’s only desire is Krsna-bhakti, pure loving devotional service to the Lord, and to engage others in devotional service.
Thus Shrila Prabhupada is the jagat-guru, who fulfilled Lord Caitanya’s innermost desire by taking the instructions of his spiritual master His Divine Grace Shrila Bhakti Siddhanta Sarasvati Thakur as his life and soul and preached to the western world in English language.
As our acharyas say the spiritual master is Shri Krsna’s kripa-sakti-murti, the very form of Lord Krsna’s mercy, so Shrila Prabhupada is the manifested compassion of the Supreme Lord who gave love of Godhead freely to the suffering souls of this world. Such a spiritual master is a rare personality indeed and he bestows all good fortune to all those who seek his shelter. His presence in our life is so valuable because it gives us the greatest possible life: a life lived as a preparation for returning to our eternal home, back home … Back to Godhead!
Lord Krishna recommends everyone seeking God to first seek out God’s representative and respectfully accept his guidance…. BG 4.34:
tad viddhi praṇipātena, paripraśnena sevayā
upadekṣyanti te jñānaṁ, jñāninas tattva-darśinaḥ
“Just try to learn the truth by approaching a spiritual master. Inquire from him submissively and render service unto him. The self-realized souls can impart knowledge unto you because they have seen the truth.”
The spiritual master is a guru because he is heavy with knowledge and thus unmovable by any arguments opposed to the Vedic conclusion. He is an acharya because he has studied and understood the meaning of the scriptures, he practices what he preaches, moves and lives completely in accordance with the Vedas, teaches the deeper meanings of the scriptures and establishes this meaning in the behavior of others. The spiritual master teaches everything we need to know about the Lord who dwells within us, that one supreme person, who is unseen by our eyes. We cannot know anything of the transcendental region by our limited, perverted method of observation and experiment. But all of us can lend our eager ears for the aural reception of the transcendental sound transmitted from that region through the unadulterated medium of the spiritual master.
sākṣād-dharitvena samasta-śāstrair, uktas tathā bhāvyata eva sadbhiḥ
kintu prabhor yaḥ priya eva tasya, vande guroḥ śrī-caraṇāravindam
“In the revealed scriptures it is declared that the spiritual master is to be honored as much as the Supreme Lord, because he is the most confidential servitor of the Lord. This is acknowledged in all revealed scriptures and followed by all authorities. Therefore I offer my respectful obeisances unto the lotus feet of such a spiritual master, who is a bona fide representative of Srī Hari [Kṛṣṇa].”
In his own Vyasa-puja offering to Shrila Bhakti Siddhanta Sarasvati Thakur in 1936, Shrila Prabhupada said:
In the Bhagavatam [11.17.27] it is said:
ācāryaṁ māṁ vijānīyān, navamanyeta karhicit
na martya-buddhyāsūyeta, sarva-deva-mayo guruḥ
“One should know the ācārya as Myself and never disrespect him in any way. One should not envy him, thinking him an ordinary man, for he is the representative of all the demigods.”
That is, the spiritual master has been identified with God Himself. He has nothing to do with the affairs of this mundane world. He does not descend here to meddle with the affairs of temporary necessities but to deliver the fallen, conditioned souls—the souls, or entities, who have come here to the material world with a motive of enjoyment by the mind and five organs of sense perception. He appears before us to reveal the light of the Vedas and to bestow upon us the blessings of full-fledged freedom, after which we should hanker at every step of our life’s journey.
If Shri Guru is not regarded as identical with the Supreme Lord, the worship of the acarya is not properly performed, and the said worshiper will not realize the true purport of the Vedas.
yasya deve parä bhaktir yathä deve tathä gurau
tasyaite kathitä hy arthäù prakäçante mahätmanaù
“Only unto that great soul who has implicit faith in both the Lord and the spiritual master is the real import of Vedic knowledge revealed.” (Svetasvatara Upanisad 6.23)
The fundamental principle of gurudeva, or acaryadeva, we speak of something that is of universal application. There does not arise any question of discriminating my guru from yours or anyone else’s. There is only one guru, who appears in infinity of forms to teach you, me, and all others. This statement affirms that although each representative of the disciplic succession is an individual, all are simultaneously categorized under the umbrella of guru-tattva, energy of the Supreme Lord that manifests in innumerable forms for the benefit of all conditioned souls.
As Shrila Prabhupada explains in his purport to Srimad-Bhagavatam, 8.24.48:
“Even though we may not have the fortune to contact the Supreme Lord personally, the Lord’s representative is as good as the Lord Himself because such a representative does not say anything unless it is spoken by the Supreme Personality of Godhead. . . The bona fide guru is he who has accepted Krishna as guru. This is the guru-parampara system. The original guru is Vyasadeva because he is the speaker of Bhagavad-gita and Srimad-Bhagavatam, wherein everything spoken relates to Krishna. Therefore guru-puja is known as Vyasa-puja. In the final analysis, the original guru is Krishna, His disciple is Narada, whose disciple is Vyasa. . One cannot become a guru if he does not know what the Personality of Godhead Krishna or His incarnation wants. The mission of the guru is the mission of the Supreme Personality of Godhead: to spread Krishna consciousness all over the world.”
Therefore God is called caittya-guru, the spiritual master within the heart. And the physical spiritual master is God’s mercy. As the external manifestation of the Paramatma, the guru teaches the Vedas, the sound manifestation of God. Shrila Krsna Dvaipayana Vyasadeva is the original spiritual preceptor for all men, and all other preceptors are to be considered his representatives.
Thus Vyasa-puja is an annual offering of special honor—puja—to such a spiritual master, who represents Krishna Himself as well as Krishna’s incarnation Vyasadeva, the editor of the Vedas.
As Shrila Prabhupada explains in his purport to Bhagavad-gita As It Is, 18.75:
“Krsna is the master of all such mysticism. It is to be understood, however, that as Arjuna was fortunate enough to understand Krsna directly, so, by the grace of Vyasa, Sanjaya was also able to hear Krsna directly. Actually there is no difference between hearing directly from Krsna and hearing directly from Krsna via a bona fide spiritual master like Vyasa. The spiritual master is the representative of Vyasadeva also. Therefore, according to the Vedic system, on the birthday of the spiritual master the disciples conduct the ceremony called Vyasa-puja.”
Shrila Prabhupada, as the founder-acarya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, is the preeminent siksha-guru for all members of ISKCON to come. All members of ISKCON, for all generations, should seek guidance and shelter of Shrila Prabhupada through his books, his teachings, his service, and his ISKCON society.
So on this Vyasa-puja day, although our diksha-gurus may be many, we gather together in community to honor Shrila Prabhupada, the foremost representative of Shrila Vyasadeva.
Shrila Prabhupada gave us the rope that connects us to the great ancestry of our predecessor acaryas— to the Six Gosvamis, to Lord Gauranga, to Shrila Vyasadeva, to Shri Narada, to Brahmaji. The transcendental knowledge of the Vedas was first uttered by God to Brahma, the creator of this particular universe. From Brahma the knowledge descended to Narada, from Narada to Vyasadeva, and from Vyasadeva to Madhva, and in this process of disciplic succession the transcendental knowledge was transmitted by one disciple to another till it reached Lord Gauranga, Shri Krsna Caitanya, who posed as the disciple and successor of Shri Isvara Puri. Shrila Prabhupada is the ninth disciplic representative after Shri Rupa Gosvami, the original representative of Lord Caitanya who preached this transcendental tradition in its fullness. The knowledge that we receive from Shrila Prabhupada is not different from that imparted by God Himself and the succession of the acaryas in the line of Brahma.
On Vyasa-puja day we honor Shrila Prabhupada as one who preserved Vedic knowledge and made it accessible to a fresh, new audience. We honor him as one who explained the deeper meanings of the scriptures and demonstrated by his example the efficacy of the spiritual techniques described therein. We honor him as one who walked the earth establishing the sacred arca-vigraha, restoring brahminical culture, and arguing for cow protection—the hallmarks of civilized human life. We give thanks that he initiated and trained many disciples to carry forward his message and preserve the chain of teachers.
Through his books, his teachings, his audiovisual recordings, his disciples and grand disciples and his Society as a whole, Shrila Prabhupada will continue to spread Krsna Consciousness, the mission of Lord Chaitanya, for years to come. As Lord Krsna is beyond time and space, so is Shrila Prabhupada. He lives forever by his divine instructions, and the follower lives with him.
Shrila Prabhupada gave three instructions to all his followers (and personally to Bhakti Charu Swami) by which we all can stay close to Prabhupada through serving his institution, ISKCON:
1. “No matter what happens, don’t leave ISKCON.”
2. “Your love for me will be shown by how you cooperate with each other [to further the mission of ISKCON].”
3. “Always consider the GBC the ultimate managing authority of ISKCON [and follow that authority].”
Shrila Prabhupada is the beating heart of ISKCON. And just as every part of the body depends on the heart for energy and life itself, so every member of Shrila Prabhupada’s Society depends on him—his instructions, his blessings, his love—for their spiritual lives. We need only approach you in the mood of sincere prayer, and then there will be no doubt that all spiritual benedictions will come. By our service and prayers to you we will experience the strength and mercy of Lord Balarama manifesting through His most confidential representative—you, Shrila Prabhupada.
Shrila Prabhupada made a perfect appearance, led a perfect life and had a perfect departure. Shrila Prabhupada lives forever through his books. This legacy will always provide the devotees with Lord Caitanya katha and teach everyone to chant the Maha mantra.
In the Caitanya-Caritamrita we find several passages describing how Lord Caitanya praised His devotees as if He had five mouths. We can only imagine how much happiness Shri Caitanya Mahaprabhu must feel as thousands of “mouths” glorify His dear devotee Shrila Prabhupada all over the world on Vyasa-puja day.
All glories to Shrila Prabhupada, in whose heart the Absolute Truth is eternally enshrined!
All glories to Shrila Prabhupada, who attracts everyone by his acarya behavior!
All glories to Shrila Prabhupada, whose only desire is to render pure loving devotional service to Lord Krsna and engage others in devotional service!
All glories to Shrila Prabhupada, who is continuing to spread the inner feelings of Shri Caitanya Mahaprabhu and Shrila Rupa Gosvami, under the divine order of Shrila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Gosvami, by spreading Krsna consciousness all over the world through the International Society for Krishna Consciousness!
All glories to Shrila Prabhupada, who wants us to continue to take care of each other in a family based upon love and trust!
All glories to Jagat-guru Shrila Prabhupada!
All glories to Shrila Prabhupada’s transcendental Book distribution!
All glories to Shrila Prabhupada’s Food for life distribution!
All glories to Shrila Prabhupada’s Cow farm community!
On behalf of the Singapore congregation of devotees, I earnestly beg at your lotus feet for your mercy to give us the sincerity, determination and strength to continue spreading the glories of holy name and the teachings of Lord Krishna and Lord Chaitanya that may please you very much.
With great humility, I therefore bow down at your lotus feet for your forgiveness, mercy and blessings!
Your’s sincerely in service,

Sri Vyasa-puja Lecture London, August 22, 1973
My dear sons and daughters, I am so much obliged to you that you have become so enthusiastic for offering Vyasa-puja. Now try to understand. Several times we have explained why this function is called Vyasa-puja. I have already explained in the morning, this offering worshiping, one may think that this man is teaching his disciples man-worshiping, anthropomorphism. But it is not man worshiping. One should not misunderstand. Vyasadeva is the original spiritual master. Original spiritual master is Krishna. From Krsna, Brahma was initiated, Lord Brahma. Tene brahma hrdaya adi-kavaye muhyanti yat surayah. It is stated in the Srimad-Bhagavatam that when Brahma was created, it was all darkness within the universe. He could not understand what is the purpose of his becoming there. Then he engaged himself in tapasya, and he was initiated from within.
Krsna is within everyone. Isvarah sarva-bhutanam hrd-dese ‘rjuna tisthati. So He is called caitya-guru, means guru within the heart. And when Krsna understands… Because Krsna knows everything, whatever we are willing, whatever we are doing. He is the Paramatma; He’s sitting within our hearts as witness. Anumanta upadrsta. Upadrsta means simply observing what we are doing, and what we are desiring. So as we desire, Krsna is very kind, He gives us facility. We have many times explained. Therefore, we have got varieties of bodies to enjoy this material world. So when Krsna sees that a living entity is very anxious to understand Him or to revive his Krsna consciousness, then Krsna gives him all opportunity, especially by manifesting Himself as the spiritual master. Antar bahih. The spiritual master is therefore Krsna’s manifestation–Krsna’s mercy manifestation to help a person to develop his Krsna consciousness. From within He’s helping. Therefore, He’s called caitya-guru, and from without, He sends His representative to help how to become advanced in Krsna consciousness.
Therefore, to advance in Krsna consciousness we require two kinds of help–one from Krsna and another from the spiritual master. It is stated in the Caitanya-caritamrta… You’ll be glad now that Caitanya-caritamrta is now published. (devotees: Jaya! Haribol!) Yes. (This) It is the… Our Panditji, Pradyumna, he has presented. Actually, he has worked for it, although I have translated. But I am very much indebted to him that he very carefully edits and makes the thing very perfect. So, now we have got translation of Srimad-Bhagavatam, Bhagavad-gita, and Sanskrit portion… Because mostly there is Sanskrit portion, so, so my beloved disciple, Pradyumna, I call him Pandit Mahasaya, because he is actually doing the pandita’s work. So he edits and he works very hard. And… Not only that, his wife also helps in this connection. So actually, that is wanted.
kiba vipra kiba sudra nyase kene naya
ye krsna tattva vetta sei guru haya
I’m sometimes criticized by my Godbrothers that I have become a marriage-maker, because a sannyasi does not take part in a marriage ceremony, but I get my disciples married. This is also unique in the history. So they criticize me that I have become a marriage-maker. But they, they do not know why I take this risk. I have got many disciples, they are married couples, but all of them, husband and wife, they are helping this movement. Here is Bhagavan dasa, he’s also married man, children.
So actually, married couples should be paramahamsas. Paramahamsa means the topmost stage of sannyasi. Paramahamsa. A sannyasi has got four stages: kuticaka, bahudaka, parivrajakacarya and paramahamsa. A sannyasi, in the beginning, he’s supposed to make a
small cottage, just on the border of the village, does not go home, but the, his necessities are supplied by his home, but he does not go home. This is called kuticaka. Then gradually, when he is practiced, he begs from home to home. He does not anymore depend on his own home. (aside:) Stop this. That is called bahudaka. Bahudaka means collecting his necessity from many places. And then as he becomes practiced, he becomes parivrajakacarya. He goes from place to place, village to village, preaching the message of Krsna. As our Sriman Revatinandana Maharaja is doing. He has now very nice bus. All others also doing. Grhasthas are also doing. Because our only business is Krsna. It doesn’t matter whether a grhastha, vanaprastha, sannyasi. It doesn’t matter. So when he preaches all over the world, that is called parivrajakacarya. And when he’s experienced, he executes the work by his assistants. That is called paramahamsa. So grhasthas are supposed to be paramahamsa. Just like Bhaktivinoda Thakura, he was grhastha, magistrate, government servant, but he has worked so much for Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu in writing books. Not only writing books, but also begetting a child like Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Gosvami Maharaja, my spiritual master. So that is grhastha. They should produce children like Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Gosvami Maharaja. Because we want big stalwart men to preach this Krsna consciousness movement.
So everyone has got duty in Krsna consciousness, and this duty is taught by Krsna and the spiritual master. Guru- krsna-krpaya paya bhakti-lata-bija. Ei rupe brahmanda bhramite kono bhagyavan jiva. Anyone who is coming to Krsna consciousness, he’s not ordinary living being. Anyone who is connected with our movement, he’s not ordinary living being. Actually, he’s liberated soul. And I am very much hopeful that my disciples who are now participating today, even if I die, my movement will not stop, I am very much hopeful. Yes. All these nice boys and girls who have taken so seriously… Bhaktivinoda Thakura wanted that European and American people may understand the philosophy of Caitanya cult and take part in it. That was his desire. My Guru Maharaja, His Divine Grace Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Gosvami Prabhupada, he also attempted to send his disciples to preach Caitanya cult in the Western world. One of them, he advised me also. First meeting, perhaps you know, he asked me to preach. So at that time I was young man, only twenty-five years old, and I was also householder. So I should have joined and executed his desire immediately, but due to my ill luck I could not immediately execute his order, but it was in my heart that it is to be done. So better late than never, I executed his order at the age of seventy years, not at the age of twenty-five. So actually I wasted so much time, I can understand that. From twenty… The message was there when I was twenty-five years old, but I began at the age of seventy years. But I did not forget the message. Otherwise, how could I do? That was, that is a fact. I was simply finding out the opportunity, how to do it. So anyway, although I began very late, at the age of seventy years, so by the help of my disciples this movement is gaining ground and is spreading all over the world. So therefore I have to thank you. It is all due to you. It is not my credit, but it is your credit that you are helping me in executing the order of my Guru Maharaja.
So this movement, Krsna consciousness movement, that you already know, that this is a most essential, most important movement to the human society. Last night the Ambassador of India, His Excellency Rasagotra, he was present here. He also appreciated that this movement is very important movement, and he was very pleased that I have done so much. So this movement will go on. Nobody can stop. So this Vyasa-puja ceremony means to offer our thanks to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, because He is is the original guru. As we receive this message through parampara system from Krsna to Brahma, Brahma to Narada, Narada to Vyasadeva, Vyasadeva to Madhvacarya, in this way, Madhavendra Puri, then Isvara Puri, then Caitanya Mahaprabhu, then six Gosvamis, then
others, Bhaktivinoda Thakura, Jagannatha dasa Babaji, Gaura Kisora dasa Babaji Maharaja, Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati. Then we have taken. So this, as we come to this Krsna consciousness understanding through this long parampara, similarly, in the Vyasa-puja ceremony, whatever respect, honor, and presentation you give, that goes to Krsna through that parampara system, from down. As it is received through the parampara system, so similarly, your offerings also goes through this parampara system to the Supreme. The connection.
Our system is gopi-bhartur pada-kamalayor dasa-dasanudasah. It is sometimes called bureaucracy. If you apply something, at least in India, to the President, you’ll have to submit to the local collector. The collector will submit to somebody else, somebody else, then secretary, you go. Then to the President. So our system is that. So it is not that I am training my disciples to worship me, man-worship, I’m getting some honor from them for nothing. No. It is not that. Whatever honor, whatever respect, whatever presentation you are giving to your spiritual master, it will go to Krsna by parampara system. This is Vyasa-puja. Therefore, it is called Vyasa-puja. Vyasa-puja means Vyasadeva is the original guru. After Brahma, Narada, then Vyasa. And Vyasa is original guru, because from his literature we understand spiritual knowledge. All these literatures whatever we have produced, they are actually originally from Vyasadeva. The four Vedas, Brahma- sutra, Upanisads, Puranas, they are called Vedic literature. And whatever is written with the conclusion of this Vedic literature, that is also Vedic literature. Just like our books. All our books, they are not mental speculation. Whatever I have learned from my Guru Maharaja, I am presenting. That’s all. It is not mental speculation–this philosophy, that philosophy. We kick out all these things. Unless we get the knowledge from the authorized source, we don’t accept. Because how we can accept? A so-called philosopher, scientist, according to… Why according? Everyone can understand that however great philosopher, scientist one may be, he is imperfect. He’s imperfect. Every man. I have several times recited this example that in our country Gandhi was very big politician. You know Mahatma Gandhi. He committed so many mistakes. At last he committed such a great mistake that he was killed. That’s a long history. So even a great person like Mahatma Gandhi, he commits mistake. Therefore, the sastra says any conditioned soul, he must commit mistake. However great he may be in the estimation of fools and rascals. Sva-vid-varahostra. He must commit mistake, he must be illusioned, his propensity is to cheat, and at the end, all the senses are imperfect. We have several times described. So, so much imperfectness, how he can give perfect knowledge?
Therefore, a so-called philosopher, scientist’s knowledge is always imperfect. The perfect knowledge can be received through this parampara system. From Krsna, Krsna to Brahma, Brahma to Narada, Narada to Vyasa, Vyasa to Madhvacarya. In this way, from Caitanya Mahaprabhu, six Gosvamis, then our Guru Maharaja, in this way. And our business is just to present whatever we have heard. This is very important point. And because we do not speculate mentally, just like so many svamis comes from India. They make their own presentation by speculation. So whatever little success I have got, it is due to this process, that I do not present anything which is created by me. That is the secret of success. All these rascals, I say, declare in this, all these rascals come, they manufacture. A spiritual thing cannot be manufactured–as God cannot be manufactured. God is always God, and the words of God is also God. If we present as it is, then it will be effective. That is said in the sastra:
satam prasangan mama virya-samvido
bhavanti hrt-karna-rasayanah kathah
taj-josanad asv apavarga-vartmani
sraddha bhaktir ratir anukramisyati
Everything is there. Satam prasangan. From a bona fide spiritual master you receive knowledge, because he will present as he has received from his spiritual master. He’ll not adulterate or manufacture something. That is the bona fide spiritual master. And that is very easy. To become spiritual master is not very difficult thing. You’ll have to become spiritual master. You, all my disciples, everyone should become spiritual master. It is not difficult. It is difficult when you anufacture something. But if you simply present whatever you have heard from your spiritual master, it is very easy. If you want to become overintelligent, to present something, to interpret something, whatever over you have heard from spiritual master you can make some further addition, alteration, then you’ll spoil whole thing. Then you’ll spoil whole thing. Don’t make addition or alteration. Simply present as it is. Therefore, we have begun Bhagavad-gita As It Is. Don’t try to become over spiritual master. Then you’ll spoil. Remain always a servant of your spiritual master and present the thing as you have heard. You’ll be spiritual master. This is secret. You should know it. Don’t try to become overintelligent. That will spoil. Evam parampara praptam imam rajarsayo viduh. This is the… So (child talking) you can stop.(?)
So Caitanya Mahaprabhu says,
amara ajnaya guru hana tara ei desa
yare dekha, tare kaha, ‘krsna’-upadesa
Just see. It is very nice. You’ll find in Caitanya-caritamrta, now it is published. Caitanya Mahaprabhu says, He is the Supreme Lord, Krsna. He says, amara ajnaya. “Whatever I say, amara ajnaya, by My order, you become a spiritual master.” Caitanya Mahaprabhu. So one may be very illiterate, no education, or no scholarship, may not be born in brahmana family, or may not be a sannyasi. There are so many qualification. But one may not have all these qualifications. He may be rascal number one, but still, he can become spiritual master. How? Amara ajnaya. As Krsna says, as Caitanya Mahaprabhu says, if you follow, then you become spiritual master. One may be rascal number one from material estimation, but if he simply strictly follows whatever is said by Caitanya Mahaprabhu or His representative spiritual master, then he becomes a guru.
So it is not very difficult. One may not think that “I am not qualified to become guru.” No, you are qualified if you follow strictly the parampara system. Then you are qualified. That’s all. Amara ajnaya guru hana… And what is the difficulty? Caitanya Mahaprabhu says, “Don’t feel any difficulty.” Because as spiritual master, what you have to do? Yare dekha, tare kaha, ‘krsna’-upadesa. Whomever you meet, you simply speak to him the instruction which Krsna gives. What Krsna instruction gives? That is also very easy. What is that? Krsna says man-mana bhava mad-bhakto mad-yaji mam namaskuru. Krsna says “Just become My devotee, always think of Me, offer Me obeisances, and worship Me.” So here is Krsna. If you simply think “Here is Krsna, Radha-Krsna Deity,” you may be fool number, rascal number one. That doesn’t matter. But you are getting impression of this Radha-Krsna, think of Him: “Oh, how nicely Krsna is decorated.” This much. No erudite scholarship. Simply… Krsna says, man-mana bhava mad-bhakto. Here is Deity. Worship Him nicely as it is regulated principle. Even you are not worshiping, simply think of Krsna, “Here is Radha-Krsna.” Impression. What is the difficulty? As soon as you see Radha-Krsna, you get some impression. Think of that impression. Where is the difficulty? Man-mana bhava mad-bhakto. “Worship me.” If you have got opportunity, worship. If you are initiated, worship here. Or you install Deity at
home, as our Ksirodakasayi Prabhu is doing. Everyone can do it. Where is the difficulty? Now ask him how he is happy. The whole family is happy. Not only he. But his wife, his children, everyone is happy. Practical. Man-mana bhava mad- bhakto mad-yaji mam namaskuru. And if you cannot do anything, simply come and offer your obeisances: “My dear Lord Krsna, I am so poor, so unfortunate, I cannot do all these things, but I offer my humble obeisances unto Your lotus feet.” That much also. If you do this, you become spiritual master.
So, simply by accepting this principle, and even if you are not learned, illiterate, you are hearing so much from Bhagavad-gita, you simply repeat that. Simply repeat that. There is no question of becoming very learned scholar. God has given you this ear. Even if you are blind, you cannot read, you can hear. So Krsna upadesa, what is Krsna…? This is ‘krsna’-upadesa. And at last, Krsna says, sarva-dharman parityajya mam ekam saranam vraja. So if you simply preach this cult, “My dear friend, my dear brother, you surrender to Krsna,” you become spiritual master. You become spiritual master. You go door to door. No other talks. Simply say, “My dear friend, you are very nice, you are very learned.” That was adopted by Prabodhananda Sarasvati.
dante nidhaya trnakam padayor nipatya
kaku-satam krtva caham bravimi
he sadhavah sakalam eva vihaya durad
caitanya-candra-carane kurutanuragam
The meaning is the preaching, very easy. Dante nidhaya trnakam. According to Indian system, if you put a grass on your mouth, it is a sign of that you have become very humble. If you approach a person with a grass in your mouth, he’ll immediately know that you are coming there with very, very great humbleness. Therefore dante nidhaya. This was the system. Dante nidhaya trnakam, and touching his feet. Immediately, touch his feet. Immediately, even if he’s enemy, he’ll be a friend. Even if he’s your enemy, it is so nice process. Take a grass on your mouth and immediately fall on his feet, padayor nipetya, and with folded hands, much flattering. Dante nidhaya trnakam padayor nipatya kaku- satam krtva ca. All flattering words. Aham bravimi. So immediately he will agree, “Yes, what you say I’ll hear. I’ll hear.” Immediately, convert to hear you at least. Just see how perfect process is. “Then what is your purpose, sir? Why you are becoming so humble, meek? And now say.” “Yes sir, I’ll say.” What is that? He sadhavah, “You are a great sadhu.” Although he may be rascal number one. Still, you call him, he sadhavah. “Yes, I am sadhu, yes. What is your proposal?” “Now kindly forget all nonsense, whatever you have learned. That’s all. I am flattering you because I want that you forget everything, all these yogis and this and that and that and meditation. Please kick out all these.” “Then what I have to do?” “Caitanya-candra-carane kurutanuragam. Just adhere yourself to the lotus feet of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Then you become spiritual master. That’s all.”
So I hope that all of you, men, women, boys and girls, become spiritual master, and follow this principle. Spiritual master, simply, sincerely, follow the principles and speak to the general public. Then Krsna immediately becomes your favorite. Krsna does not become your favorite; you become Krsna’s favorite. Krsna says in the Bhagavad-gita, na ca tasmad manusyesu kascin me priya-krttamah: “One who is doing this humble service of preaching work, Krsna consciousness, nobody is dearer than him to Me.” So if you want to become recognized by Krsna very quickly, you take up this process of becoming spiritual master, present the Bhagavad-gita as it is. Your life is perfect.
Thank you very much.

The spiritual master is receiving benediction from the ocean of mercy. Just as a cloud pours water on a forest fire to extinguish it, so the spiritual master delivers the materially afflicted world by extinguishing the blazing fire of material existence. I offer my respectful obeisances unto the lotus feet of such a spiritual master, who is an ocean of auspicious qualities.

Chanting the holy name, dancing in ecstasy, singing, and playing musical instruments, the spiritual master is always gladdened by the sankirtana movement of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Because he is relishing the mellows of pure devotion within his mind, sometimes his hair stands on end, he feels quivering in his body, and tears flow from his eyes like waves. All Glories to Srila Prabhupada
By the causeless mercy of all our acharyas and their lordships Sri Sri Jagannath Baladev Subadra, we are given this golden opportunity to glorify you, Srila Prabhupada, on this auspicious year commemorating, 50 years since you arrived in US.
Prabhupada you are often called the acharya of our ISKCON movement. You are not only the guru for a single generation of disciples but a Jagad Guru, the spiritual master, of the entire world, conveying the message that you received by disciplic sucession from your spiritual master.A messenger of Lord Caintanya Mahaprabhu, spreading His Sankirtana Yajna worldwide in the midst of the age of kali.
Prabhupada you have carried out the order of your spiritual master Bhakti Siddhanta Sarasvati Thakur to preach in the west, to implement the vision of Bhaktivinoda Thakur, the essence of religious life to unite all people and bring them to prefection by Lord Caintanya’s universal Sankirtana Yajna.
By the order of your spiritual master, you started printing Vedic literatures, like Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam and today Prabhupada, millions of copies of Bhagavad Gita’s have been distributed throughout the world.
You have introduced the standard of krsna Consiousness for sincere followers for thousands of years to come. The Yuga dharma, the form of spiritual life recommended for all humanity in the present age of kali in which humanity eventually abandons all religious principles.
Prabhupada this quote from your Lilamrta, below really touched my heart:
‘AS FOR ME, HOWEVER I DO NOT WISH TO BE LIBERATED ALONE, LEAVING ASIDE ALL THESE POOR FOOLS AND RASCALS. I KNOW THAT WITHOUT KC, WITHOUT TAKING SHELTER OF YOUR LOTUS FEET, ONE CANNOT BE HAPPY.
THEREFORE I WISH TO BRING THEM BACK TO SHELTER AT YOUR LOTUS FEET.
Prabhupada such compassion you have on us.Your kindness and compassion can never be repaid. This year with your blessings we were able to attend the long awaited Nabakalevara of their lordships Jagannath, Baladev, Subadra in Jagannath Puri, Orissa.
A thought ran through my mind. I recollected reading about the Ratha Yatra festival, you used to perform Prabhupada as young ‘Abbay.Your inspiration, genuine desire to hold this festivel, later manifested as Ratha Yatra festival of Sri Sri Jagannath, Baladev, Subadra in ISKCON all over the world, all year round.
We want to express our deepest gratitute and appreciation to you Prabhupada for all your selfless service to mankind, in building a wonderful congregation of devotees, a family and a place we can call home.
Please shower your blessings on us Prabhupada, to follow all your instructions carefully throughout our life and attain perfection at the lotus feet of Sri Sri Radha Syamasundara.
We pray at your lotus feet to always remain faithful and committed to your mission.

I just wonde, if Srila Prabhupada had not been there what my life and lives of many other people would have been. Many of us might have been alcoholics, women-hunters, gamblers and meat-eaters. We would have never known that we are something different from this body. We would have been living our lives KING size and preparing to die ANT size.
Prabhupada could have simply remained in Vrindavan and spent his old age chanting Krishna’s Holy names alone. Spreading the Holy name outside India was already considered a mission impossible. But nevertheless, Prabhupada took all the pains needed to take Chaitanya Mahaprabhu’s message to the West. He just wanted to be a humble instrument in the hands of Srila Bhaktsiddhanta Saraswati Thakura.
Srila Prabhupada met his Guru Maharaj only a few times. But still he had the fire within his heart to fulfil the order of his spiritual master, no matter what.
Srila Prabhupada please bless us with a fraction of the devotion you had for Krishna and the surrender you had for your Guru Maharaj

This message is to commemorate the 50 years of your departure to the US.
Atha va yogintim eva we bhavati dhimatam
Etad dhi durlabhatram loke janma yad idrsam –Bhagavad Gita (6.42)
Born by the banks of the sacred Ganges River in 1896, you took birth into a family of great devotees of Lord Chaitanya who were truly great in wisdom. Your birth is certainly a rare phenomenon in this world. It was predicted at birth that you would cross the ocean and become a great exponent of religion during your later days.
At the age of 70, Srila Prabhupada boarded the cargo ship from Kolkata to the US with much perseverance and determination to spread the holy name in the West. With hardly any cash and belongings you embarked on your long voyage to the West without any expectation but with the instructions of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati. Your health deteriorated during your voyage but you never gave up on your mission. We owe our heart filled gratitude to you.

Dear Srila Prabhupada,
I pay my humble obeisances at your lotus feet.
My life had no substance before I got to know you. You came in like the beautiful rays of the sun and brought light to my life. You have made the ignorant soul become aware of what spirituality is and how it should be practiced. How blessed I am to have the opportunity to listen to discourses given by you as well as to read Bhagavad Gita translations by you.
No words can describe how thankful and grateful I am to all that you have done for the wellbeing of mankind.

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to you. This is my first ever offering to you and I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to you.
It was my misfortune that even though I received a copy of the Bhagavad Gita as it is when I was 15, I was too sinful to fully appreciate it. Your vigorous book distribution allowed my maternal grandfather to purchase a copy right here in Singapore and it landed in my hands and gave me comfort at the time of my father’s passing away.
Just a few of your wonderful purports increased my faith over the years. In my late teens I was on my internship in Glasgow, Scotland. I was rushing to meet friends for dinner. I passed by a monk on the street and gave him 1 pound. He in turn gave me Srimad Bhagavatam’s Canto 1, Part 1. That made me stop in my tracks and I looked at it with gratefulness and thanked the brahmachari wholeheartedly.
Later that night I looked through the book and I found it dry due to the lack of a proper regulated life. However it was written by you and it was about Sri Krsna and therefore I was thankful that your mercy was still available for me even though I was still not a devotee. The Bhagavad Gita was my constant companion during my army days and gave me relief during the torture that I had to endure. Your purports never failed to give me the strength that I needed.
In the wonderful year of 2012, in the month of April due to your disciples great endeavour of preaching, I came to know of the existence of devotees in Singapore in the form of a GRS advertising flyer. This time I never let go, and neither did you Srila Prabhupada.
In this degraded age, you boldly challenged Kali yuga’s stronghold all alone. And you succeeded. Who else but a pure devotee like you could have started a worldwide authentic spiritual organisation with no money and just chanting at Tompkins Square Park? In this degraded age, people are willing to worship mystics who have siddhi powers. They unfortunately see this as prove of the ability to do miracles.
However you rightly pointed out in the Nectar of Devotion that even the scientists of this world have been able to create machines that float above the ground and water. Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu induced the animals in the Jarikhand forest to chant. Srila Prabhupada, you made men and women who behave worse than animals into first class devotees. I pray that one day people all over the world will truly realize that this is the greatest miracle.
Lord Jesus Christ made disciples within the same continent during his lifetime. Srila Prabhupada, you made disciples and followers all over the world within your lifetime. This clearly shows that you are empowered.
“You transformed me from a housefly that sought out meat, into a bee that is seeking the nectar of devotion. You transformed my Himalayan ego into one a size of Bukit Timah hill; a work still in progress. You transformed me into a servant of your servant; Srila Prabhupada, what can I ever do for you?”
I pray that you will bless me with your divine mercy that I will forever remain a servant of your servant.

Dear Srila Prabhupada,
Please accept our most humble obeisances at the dust of your lotus feet. All glories to your divine Grace on on this most auspicious day of your Vyasa Puja. May your glories be widely heard and constantly sung especially on this day.
Srila Prabhupada you are so magnanimous and compassionate. You came to this material world to deliver the conditioned souls like us. Srila Prabhupada you set the example by leaving Vrndavana and going to the West to preach with great determination and enthusiasm. You spent many nights translating books while the whole world lay asleep. At an elderly age you travelled worldwide tolerating all bodily ailments to spread Krishna consciousness.
Srila Prabhupada we thank you again and again for encouraging us to chant the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra, the association of ISKCON devotees, for giving us your transcendental books and the Holy places of pilgrimage like Vrndavana and Sri Mayapur Dham. We cannot repay you for what you had done for us. Please shower you mercy and blessings on us so that we can continue with our services and stay in Krishna consciousness always.

Where Would We Be…. Dear Srila Prabhupada,
“Where would I be had it not been for You?” This is a question I have asked myself many times.
You built a house in which the whole can live. Had it not been for Your compassion, Srila Prabhupada, none of us would be here. I see Your compassion in Your disciples and Your books.
I belong to the 2nd generation of bhaktas, disciples of Your disciples. Often I have lamented that I never had the opportunity to have met You and get to know You but Your disciples are Your legacy to all of us for they have the same conviction You had fifty years ago when You boarded the Jaladuta en route to the West so that the Holy Name of the Lord may be chanted in every corner of the world. In my spiritual master I see Your mission to build a house in which the whole world can live. Like Him Your disciples are continuing to build this house all over the world.
In this house we all speak the same language; the Hare Krishna language. No matter which corner of the world we come from whether it is Canada or Mauritius, Israel or China, Russia or New Zealand we all speak the same language: “Hare Krishna, Prabhu, Mataji, dandavats, darshan, aratik, bhoga, maha-prasadam, kirtan, rasagulla, Haribol!” You have brought us all together as one big family.
You have said that “Purity is the Force, Preaching is the Essence, Books are the Basis, Utility is the Principle.” Indeed Srila Prabhupada, Your books are the basis. Your books have opened a whole new world for many of us; one that is free of anxiety and envy; one that is full of bliss and happiness. When we read Your wonderful descriptions of Vrndavana in the pages of Srimad Bhagavatam You bring to life the vivid scenes of the Lord’s pastimes. The paintings that You commissioned are truly “windows to the spiritual world.”
Similarly the books that Your disciples have written about You and Your pastimes offer glimpses of Your life, Your faith, Your conviction and Your determination to fulfil the orders of Your Spiritual Master.
You have said that Your books will be around for 10 000 years. And with Your books so will You. I pray that I may develop complete faith in Your words, Your books, Your teachings and take shelter of Your lotus feet; sri guru carana padma for where will I be without You; where will we all be …..With this faith please allow me to offer my humble obeisances unto You.

All glories to Srila Prabhupada,
A bona fide devotee of Lords Krishna is always pained to see the fallen condition of the whole world. On 13 Aug 1965, swami when you left from Calcutta on board the cargo carrier ‘Jaladuta’ to spread of message of Lord Krishna to the United States of America, it was the beginning of distribution of Krishna consciousness as it is not only to USA but to the whole world. It took tedious 35 days journey to reach Boston, USA and you were then 70 years old but you had the courage and faith to accomplish your goal. Swami you had no institutional backing, no support awaited and only had about 8 dollars with you yet you were undaunted in making the maiden journey to USA on the order of your spiritual master Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati to teach Krishna consciousness to the English speaking world. Swami you had suffered two heart attacks during the journey and became physically weaker but you did not want to return back without fulfilling your mission as mentally you were aware that the supersoul was with you to support your mission.
Srila Prabhupada, I have read the condensed version of your lilamrta and heard from devotees of your glories and achievements in spreading Krishna consciousness. Swami you encountered very unfavourable environments and strange people but your perseverance to spread Krishna prem was remarkable feat unaccomplished by anyone else. You knew that you were the only one who could deliver the helpless fallen souls to obtain the spiritual ticket journey back to godhead. Swamji you displayed great leadership, knowledge of the vedas and charisma earning the respect of prominent leaders of the society and the love of your followers. Within a short period, swamiji had established ISKCON in New York and embarked on spreading Krishna consciousness as it is all over North America and Europe and eventually worldwide. The preaching spread to Singapore and I have benefited too.
Inquiries and submission constitute the proper combination for spiritual understanding and swamiji, you have accorded it to fallen soul such as myself through your kritan and kirtana. Daily I could hear the sound vibration of your soul through the recorded chanting of the maha mantra by your grace. My family and I are indeed greatly indebted to you for your spiritual guidance and to love the supreme godhead Lord Krishna. We owe our heart filled gratitude to you Srila Prabhupada, the great saint who lives amongst us to show us the path to Lord Krishna.

All glories to everyone on this auspicious day of vyasapuja. I’m sure that we are forever indebted to H.G Srila Prabhupada for delivering fallen jivas like us who would’ve otherwise been lost to the modes of material nature. I offer my respectful obeisance unto the lotus feet of Srila Prabhupad who so eloquently put across the Supreme truth to bewildered souls. It is no surprise that both the young and old are attracted to him for his words are so simple but sublime and yet they are bonafide and not merely speculative.
Personally if not for Srila Prabhupada’s books I would have been a lost cause still wandering mindlessly for some sort of truth or happiness. If not for Srila Prabhupad, this blissful truth would have otherwise eluded us. Before Krsna consciousness I would’ve witlessly thought devotional service to be some sort of regimental and rigid practice and perhaps just a temporary refuge from material miseries.
Bhakti, instead, I understood to be the most blissful practice which is full of warmth, tenderness and adorement towards the Lord; and of course, eternal. I am extremely fortunate that dear Krsna revealed the true meaning of bhakti to me in the form of Prabhupada’s books. I sincerely pray that all of us never lose the vairagya to go back to Godhead. Jai prabhupad!

PAMHO AGTSP
All glories to everyone on this auspicious day of vyasapuja. I have been most fortunate to have received the mercy of Srila Prabhupada through his transcendental literature. Even though I have not been fortunate to associate with you in person I have always felt your fatherly presence during my tough times in keeping up with the battles against maya’s powerful onslaught. And here is a small dedication on my part to you.
Around 500 years ago, the Lord himself appeared on this Earth to distribute the most rare jewel of krsna prema to the entire world and he declared:
prthivi paryanta yata ache desa grama
sarvatra sancara haibeka mora nama
Which means, “In every town and village of the world, the chanting of My name will be heard.”
The all merciful Lord then further declares in the Caitanya Mangala (Sutra-khanda, song 12, texts 564-565) Lord Caitanya clearly mentions that He will send His leading preacher abroad:
ebe nama sankirtana tiksna khadga lana
antara asura jivera pheliba katiya
yadi papi chadi dharma dura dese yaya
mora senapati-bhakta yaibe tathaya
“Taking the sharp sword of the congregational chanting of the Holy Name, I will root out and destroy the demoniac mentality in the hearts of the conditioned souls.”
If some sinful people escape and giving up religious principles go to
far off countries, then My commander in chief (Senapati Bhakta) will appear to chase them and distribute Krsna consciousness.”
My dear Srila Prabhupada Our fearless Senapati,
The material world is a torture house,
Where pain seems like pleasure,
With never ending pits of life and death,
Where even the intelligent and noble commit sin against their own will,
Such is the severe illusion of this dukhalayam,
Amongst all this we were blindfolded,
Not being able to see spirit from matter,
And there you came,
To protect us from the posionous arrows of maya,
To teach us how to fight against her arrows,
Where all else failed,
Where all hope was lost,
When the world was heading towards its own devastation,
You removed our blindfolds and let us see things as they were,
You gave us the golden ticket of hari nama sankirtanam to get out.
My dear Srila Prabhupada our beloved father,
Some say ignorance is bliss,
We could never see the suffering of ours or others,
There is danger at every step in the material world, you always said,
You know what a torture house, a mad house the material world is,
You know too well what excruciating pain and unbearable suffering fills this place,
Yet you came for us,
Suffering for our misdeeds,
Absorbing our sins so that we can relish bhakti yoga faster,
Yet you smiled and encouraged even the smallest of our improvements,
Someone said that everyone is looking for krsna,
But in different ways,
Thank you for showing me Krsna,
As you sat down trying to churn the nectar of srimad bhagavatam,
The doctors said that this man is going through extremely excruciating pain,
His nerves are directly rubbing against his skin,
I am close to tears as i go on recollecting,
The bull who rammed you,
While you lay under the scorching sun,
No one helped you including me!
So why do i deserve your mercy or love?
Yet your unconditional love and causeless mercy protects me till this day,
Your books guide us daily and gives us transcendental strength,
You went through all of this,
Because you loved us so much,
Just to see all of us truly happy again.
HARIBOL!!

Dear Srila Prabhupada, Please accept our humble obeisance unto you.
Srila Prabhupada, by the mercy of our senior devotees in Singapore, We are fortunate to have been given the chance to write this offering to Your Divine Grace, despite our incapability and insignificant service. By your causeless mercy we have got a place in Singapore (Gauranga Centre) to practice Krishna consciousness in this age of hypocrisy and quarrel. We are getting very good association of devotees who helps us in each and every steps of devotional service. Without devotee’s association in Singapore, we would not have been stayed for longer duration. Please empower us so that we will never again deviate from your teachings and continue to read your books to remain in KC.

Dear Srila Prabhupada, Please accept our most humble obeisance unto your lotus feet. On this most auspicious day of your appearance we express our very heartfelt gratitude to you. Our entire lives belongs to you, for you have shown us the purpose and aim of the life. As we try our best to serve the holy mission that you have started, we seek blessing of yours and all the Vaishnavas.
You are our preeminent spiritual master and your books and lectures have been like bright sun guiding us through darkness of material existence. Your transcendental translations and purports have been our only shelter and solace as we get affected by the pangs of material life, practically every next moment. You have given us everything that we need to know through your books, talks and your life example, but it’s the lack of our conviction and the deep rooted anarthas that we still want to lord the material energy and want to forget Krishna on every available opportunity. We promise to improve in our saadhnaa, in imbibing the essence of Krishna consciousness and to serve guru, vaishanvas and all living beings. Every moment of our life we have been depended on your teachings. We are indebted to you for our entire life for helping us, a very insignificant jeevas being part and parcel of Krishna, how to serve Him. Practically our entire lives are depended on you, your mercy and the movement you started.
Your answers on spiritual and practical aspects of life and clear delineation of Krishna conscious philosophy, helps us in defeating our proud and obstinate mind, which always keeps coming up with arguments to sense gratify or speculate. The only times we are not able to do it is due to out lack of conviction and sincerity. We always seek your blessings so that we can whole heartedly dedicate our lives in serving you and your mission, guru vrinda, the Vaishnavas and all the living entites.

Hare Krsna Srila Prabhupad
Please accept my humble obeisances.
All glories to Lord Gauranga.
Dear Prabhupad, thank you for this wonderful movement which accepts one and all in it. Before being introduced to the philosophy taught in ISKCON, my life had been quite a mess and really didn’t understand the purpose of it. I had not known that whatever I am currently facing is a result of my own past karma. I didn’t have any idea that death is life’s final exam and there is existence beyond it also.
All glories to you Srila Prabhupad for making this knowledge available to everyone. And for teaching us that we should not just keep the knowledge to ourselves but make all efforts to spread it to others also.
By your mercy and the strength provided by you, I also started making some feeble attempts to take this knowledge to others by distributing books on streets and in the University. Since past two years, I have strongly felt you urging me to distribute books as the December month approaches near. And by some divine arrangement I am able to overcome the inhibitions in my heart and approach strangers on the road and discuss about Krsna Consciousness with them. I have had many wonderful experiences while distributing books. But I am also begging in front of you Srila Prabhupad, please save me from the pride that comes along with any sewa that I do for your pleasure and for Krsna’s pleasure. Please make me just an insignificant instrument in your hands and let me not stray away and get caught in the clutches of maya again and again. Please give me the strength to chant my rounds attentively, to follow the regulative principles, to be loving and caring towards the devotees and to follow their orders. Please let me always remember where I was, before meeting you and all the devotees, so that I can develop compassion for other people. Please give me the courage to represent your movement properly and not let you down. Please help me realize that I am really insignificant and help me develop humility. Please always guide me to be on this path and be in the association of devotees and to serve them.
Thank you for accepting me Srila Prabhupad.
Aspiring to be servant of your servant
Soumya
Dear Srila Prabhupada,
Please accept our humble obeisances.
I was recently meditating on the song – “yadi Prabhupada na hoito…” I would have been one of the millions of people engaged in eating, sleeping, mating and defending. Struggling without knowing what I should struggle for. I feel so grateful that one of your servants has picked me up from this endless struggle and given me shelter. Prabhupada, you have really provided a home in which whole world can reside, irrespective of nationality, caste, religion and age. You have given something for everyone to relate with. When I see sweetness, caring and sacrificing nature of devotees, I wonder, how sweet you must have been. I lament, will I ever be able to become a worthy servant of your servants!
I am weak in my determination, a sign of animal, as you say, but, association of servants of your servants keeping me determined on the right path. We are trying to serve with our little capacity in youth preaching and book distribution. We beg from you only two thing – Association of your servants and opportunity and strength to preach. May be, in this way, we will be able to repay something of what we have received.
Trying to be servant of your servants,
Laxman Nitai Das, Deepshikha and Madhav
Dear Srila Prabhupada,
Please accept my humble obeisance’s at your lotus feet. All glories to your divine grace.
On this auspicious day of your holy appearance, I want to offer my heartfelt gratitude and thanks for giving a direction, meaning and purpose to my life which was otherwise destined towards hellish conditions. I still vividly remember days being totally confused, distressed and lost in the endless struggles and miseries, and my lame attempts of trying to find a way out through different processes of yoga, meditations, philosophies and so on. But the genuine warmth, affection and concern I felt by coming in touch with your devotees – Srila Prabhupada, was something I had never experienced or felt ever in my life.
The more I try and understand you through your books, through your disciples, I wonder about the great fortune I have in being in the family of devotees, having them as my friends, guides, mentors, family members etc.
When I was a naughty child, sometimes my mother would chastise me for my mischief’s and sometimes would call me a chandala, a word I could never understand until I read in your books, in which you mention about glories of Lord Chaitanya’s mission – through which even low class mlecchas, yavanas and chandalas like me can perfect their lives.
Srila Prabhupad – the greatest quality I like and appreciate in you is your ability to understand the fallen condition of so many of us struggling jivas in this material world and your willingness to show special compassion to save and elevate them to the highest position of being a servant of the Lord and His devotees. Thank you for your teachings through your books from which I always seem to find newer and newer learnings every time I read them. Thank you for inspiring all of us in chanting our daily Japa through your personal example, your inspiring quotes that I receive from devotees. Thank you for setting an exemplary example by managing responsibilities during your family life, your dedication and commitment towards your guru maharaj’s instructions and your faith in Sri Guru and Sri Gauranga.
Dear Prabhupada, my attachment to worldly pleasures and weak determination often drag me into the mire of nescience, but I am determined to not leave the shelter of yours and your devotees’ lotus feet as I have no other hope than that. On this auspicious day of your appearance Srila Prabhupada, I beg for you to never abandon this rascal and also to continue to bless me with the association of the devotees of the Lord. I pray to Lord Sri Krishna and Srimati Radharani to make me a sincere servant of yours and all the devotees. Thank you for all of your countless blessings in our life.
Your servant and grandchild,
Pran Chaitanya das
I lived in India till 26 years of my life however wasn’t fortunate enough to find a way to Krsna. It is only after I came to Singapore that I became a part of this great movement started by Srila Prabhupada that I have started to understand Supreme personality of Godhead and life. Still a long way to go. I pray for the mercy of Krsna, Sri Chaitanya and devotees to uplift my fallen soul. Hare Krsna.

Respected and Dear A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada,
Recently, we watched the celebration of 50th anniversary of your departure on Jaladuta to the US. It was a very inspiring celebration. Generally, when the people from various countries come together, it is for competition and fight. For example, the Olympic Games, where people from many countries come together to defeat others and win a trophy. But, during this celebrations people from over 100 countries came together not for winning, not for fighting, not for competing, not for any other personal motives, but, only to glorify the Supreme Personality of Godhead and the Founder Acharya- Srila Prabhupada. Everyone was working in unity and bliss. In this age of Kali in which quarrel and hypocrisy are very prominent, it is very challenging to unite people. But, you have successfully united so many people from different backgrounds on the basis of the spiritual platform. One more aspect that inspires us very much is that you were, in each stage of your life, a very responsible person. Your diaries and life biography shows that you kept track of each penny, you were well-planned, caring, dutiful and loving to your family and when you became the spiritual master and the Founder Acharya, you were also very systematic, dutiful and loving.
Thank you for giving us the spiritual knowledge and spiritual association through your books, disciples and grand-disciples.
Your aspiring servants,
Rajshekhar and Jahnavi
In sincere words coming from heart, we are not aware of way to pay gratitude to you, Srila Prabhupad. What you have done in this yuga of kalah will always remain unmatched. Teaching fallen people in general like us Love of God in such a crystal clear way can’t be explained in words.
We beg for your mercy that we are able to serve the servants of the servants thru parampara and always remain in association of devotees.
Dandwats again and again for setting up this miracle called ISKCON and giving us a way of life full of Love of God, not fear of God.”
Your servants,

Dear Srila Prabhupad,
All Glories to You, Sri Radhakunjbihari and Devotees of Iskcon.
It’s truly because of you, i am in position to write something for you. You are the inspiration for the millions of followers who are making an attempt to purify themselves by the method you have laid down for us.
We feel really blessed and proud to have Acharyas like you. For all the efforts you have taken which i really cannot describe in words but my mind and heart knows it that you understand and wherever you are, must be listening to the cryings of my heart.
I like to thank you from the bottom of my heart with tears in my eyes that your chosen devotees have shown some faith in me and they are giving their all-out efforts to connect us to the Supreme Lord via you to menial and fallen souls like me.
Pray to Lord and to your Lotus feet that please bless me and my family that we always remain in the path of Bhakti that you taught us and we together able to work towards achieving our final Goal.
Thank you Srila prabhupad for everything. You are the only hope for us that we have chance to meet you at Goloka Dham.

Please accept my humble obeisance at your lotus feet. Dear Gurudev, You are an exemplary devotee of lord Sri Krsna and an exemplary disciple of Srila Bhakti Siddhant Saraswati Thakur. By your own examples, you taught us the spiritual bondage between guru and his disciple. Your life has shown us how to support Krsna movement even in Grhistha Asharam. Your direct answers to mundane philosophers and scientist are amazing. We are blessed to have an opportunity to read enlightening books, full of transcendental knowledge. Availability of your wonderful lectures, speeches and conversation always brighten our thoughts and clear our minds as dust get removed from old mirror.
We are fallen souls, but by your mercy, we get a chance to hear and chant the glories of Sri Krsna and his pastimes. In the last 4 years, I have learnt a true meaning and purpose of my life. Though I am still hankering to worldly enjoyment, I am trying my best to follow your teachings in day to day life. Though I am not so qualified, I will put all my efforts to spread transcendental message of Krsna Consciousness to my near and dear ones.
From this year, by your blessed appearance in Singapore, our faith in Krsna conscious will become more strengthen and our mission will gain a momentum.
On this day today, we seek your blessing to preach Krsna consciousness to each and every Singaporean and engage all souls of this island at service of your lotus feet.
Although most insignificant, I take this as an opportunity to send this small piece of offering for this Vyasa Puja celebration. Kindly accept it and oblige.

Dear Srila Prabhupad,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to you.
Many great leaders and personalities have appeared on this planet. But your position is unique. The glories of all others gradually fade away with time. Many are forgotten soon after they leave. Others are remembered only on their anniversaries or through streets and airports that are named after them. But your glories as a messenger of universal love of God are ever increasing. With every passing day, your message is touching the hearts of more and more people around the world and changing their lives. There is no nationalistic propaganda; no big governmental or administrative machinery support- in fact in many parts of the world there is explicit attempt to suppress the spread of your movement- but in the face of all adversities, the Krsna Consciousness movement is spreading in all corners of the world. The recent festival in Kolkata commemorating the 50th year of your sailing to the west, that saw people from over a 100 countries in exuberant participation, is a demonstration of the same. Hopefully one day, by the Lord’s sweet arrangement, the whole world will understand your vision of the ‘peace formula’ and ‘the roof under which all can reside’ and recognize you as the best gift that mankind has received.
You are the Founder Acharaya of ISKCON for all times to come. All the founding principles of the society, the essence of all the revered scriptures and teachings of all the acharayas in the Gaudiya Vaisnava sampradaya are epitomized through your life. Your life in itself is a shining example and the biggest source of inspiration to the practicing Bhakti yogi of the modern times. It instills faith and conviction in the heart of the doubting and feeble seeker, struggling under materialistic propaganda on one side and the contraptions of the pseudo spiritualist on the other. The extreme challenges that your went through to execute the orders of your beloved spiritual master, to finally establish an international society that already had a vibrant global presence when you left the planet, appears a miracle to many. But it establishes Krsna’s absolute reciprocation to the surrender of His pure devotee and inspires us to develop faith and confidence in His words. Thus your life in itself is a teaching for us.
You are a transcendental visionary. Your actions and words appeared as prophetic and inconceivable as the statement of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu that the Holy Name would be chanted in every town and village around the world, made 500 years ago! Be it the incorporation of an international society at a small store front in the lower east side of New York, speaking to a single Russian boy for 2 days that sowed the seeds of Krsna Consciousness revolution in Russia of today or the proclamation of the establishment of an exquisite Vedic Planetarium in Mayapur that was made from a small straw hut. While your pure desires and vision of a Krsna Conscious world continue to unfold to fulfill the prediction of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, I pray at your lotus feet that as your grand disciple I may continue to hold on to the edge of your dhoti and sincerely endeavor to offer some insignificant services to your illustrious disciples and other Vaishanavas in the spreading of your glorious mission.

I offer my infinite obesiences at the lotus feet of his divine grace Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, who has most mercifully brought the Savior of the Kali Yuga Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu’s glorious message to the the entire world through his full surrender to the order of his Divine Master Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur.
Srila Prabhupad, We all are grateful and very thankful to you for giving us the most precious jewel which has inconceivable power. You have given us the precious jewel in the form of your teachings in your books, which are the touch stones and beacons of light in this age of kali which has so much power that it even changed most fallen souls like me. They have constantly been a source of strength and inspiration to me. Your glories are vast, it has no end. We feel your presence in the form of your books, lectures, conversations, letters and so on.
Srila Prabhupad, please kindly bless me that I should follow the principles of Krishna Conciousness without any obstacles on its way. Please bless me that I should never lose taste in chanting the holy names of the Lord. I should never give up the association of the devotees by your mercy. I should improve myself in Krishna Consciousness process which You have shown us as a bright light amidst a very dark cave.
I beg you that even though inadequate, you may accept this humble offering. It is my aspiration that somehow I get engaged in your service by serving your true servants, whom you are guiding in the fulfillment of the transcendental longings of Sri Sri Radha-Gopinath. I am your eternal servant, and have no other desire.
Srila Prabhupada please have mercy on me. I am still plagued with materialistic vision and material identification. But I have faith in your books, the Holy Name and your instructions. Please bless me that I will become a proper recipient of your abundant mercy, and engage me in your service.

Please accept my most respectful obeisance. All glories to you. All glories to on this auspicious day of your vyasapuja. On behalf of Sri Harinam society I am trying to write few words, though I have no qualification to glorify you.
You appeared on Nandotsava – the day that Nanda Maharaja had a big festival to celebrate the birth of Krishna (Sri Krishna Janmastami) such a wonderful day. Thank you so very much such a perfect day you had appeared.
This year is your 119th Vyasapuja & we just finished 13th August 50th Anniversary of departure on Jaladuta. You are special duta of Sri Krishna & your journey with Jaladuta to United States at the end you have given us lots of duta to continue Lord Caitanya’s Mission.
I saw you in my dream middle of the night, I was shock & I couldn’t sleep that night. You was very happily smiling. Off course you are naturally so sweet & soft with Grandson but I didn’t thought of that time.

2014 February I was mayapur when my nephew took me to the shop for bought your statue for his temple in Chittagong, Bangladesh then I thought of Singapore Immediately & I asked for two, at that time my nephew was shock so long he was insisting me to get one for him & now I am asking for two. Actually I was fall in love, so sweet.
When I saw statue & remember my dream. That’s your power as you showed all over the world. You are complete & completed your duty to your Gurudev & showed us real example what is the purpose of human life. It’s for us very great lesson.
We are trying to follow instruction & serve you better but we need your Kripa.

Dear srila Prabhupada,
Please accept my humble obeisances at your lotus feet. All glories to Sri Guru and Gaurang.
Dear Srila prabhupada, on this appearance day of yours i m taking this opportunity to express my gratitude to you with my limited capacity. The words fall short to express my feeling for you Srila Prabhupada. My life would have been like a dry desert, but its ONLY by your mercy that a small creeper of devotion is able to grow. I had no understanding about the real goal of life and would have completely wasted my life living like an animal- eating, sleeping, mating and defending. By your unlimited compassion you have made the deep knowledge of sastras so accessible to every single ordinary jiva and you have saved me. You have shown by your own example and by providing this institute how to practically live this life following the sastric injunctions even in this dark age of Kali. I would have remained bereft of Mahaprabhu’s mercy if it was not for you who has made this mercy to flow in every town and village.
As it says in CC Antya 7.11: Krsna sakti bina nahe tara pravartana.., it is but obvious that you are an empowered captain in this mission of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.
While i was travelling in different countries of europe as well as in countries like China, i saw the vast, unimaginable family that you have created for us everywhere. !000s of devotees without any distinction of caste, creed and nationality are able to relate to each other having you in the center of their lives. You are like the string holding the pearls of various different colors, shapes, background so easily. In fact, you have built a house where whole world can live in. You have provided real solution for the world peace.
Recently you have appeared in your murti form at Singapore center and since then your presence is much more strongly felt here. No doubt that you are always with us in your vani form, but your appearance in murti has strengthened the feeling of your shelter. O Srila Prabhupada, you have been like most kind and reciprocative grandfather to many of us. I beg at your lotus feet to always keep me under guidance and shelter of your loving devotees birth after birth. Please use me in your mission Dear Prabhupada as your instrument as you like. Please bless me that i can follow your instructions coming in parampara as my life and soul and make you feel proud one day as your gran child. Let the service to your sincere followers and to please them be the ONLY goal of my life. i desire no other blessings or boon.

Hare krsna,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Gurudeva. All glories to Sri Guru and Gauranga.
All glories to your all-auspicious vyasa puja celebration.
Dear Srila Prabhupada,
About 20 years back I came in contact with some of your sincere followers. That was the most precious moment that paved the path of my life. I am eternally grateful to you and your faithful servants for giving me shelter in a life which is filled with challenges and trials.
At an advanced age you were willing to give up the comfort of your eternal home, i.e. Vrndavana for the welfare of all other living entities. You went to the most degraded place to give the most sublime message. You voluntarily tolerated so much inconvenience at an age when we generally want to simply retire & relax. Today all of us could experience the effect of your sacrifice. You have created so many dedicated souls who are selflessly following your footsteps, to continue your mission, for the benefit of all living entities. Slowly but surely all these are creating a revolution in the world.
Srila Prabhupada, please let me always remain in the service of the devotees. Give me the stringent to continue serving your teachings in all circumstances in life.

Hare Krishna! All Glories to Srila Prabhupad!! I offer my humble obeisances at your lotus feet!
In this 50th year of your remarkable journey to awaken the world and reignite the spiritual nature in mankind, I can say with immense gratitude that I have been truly blessed to get associated with your teachings, your disciples and the devotee community who provide us direction for our spiritual life and allow us to engage in devotional service to Krishna. As our Jagat Guru, you have blessed us by your Divine presence, by your teachings and by leaving your blessings in the form of Guru Parampara that provides us continued guidance through Swamis who enlighten and bless us to serve Krishna.
Srila Prabhupad, your teachings and purports constantly educate, enlighten and motivate me, and imbibing your teachings and instilling the principles of devotional service in my life is a constant effort every day. Kindly bless me so that I stay Krishna Conscious, chant the Holy Names and stay in the association of devotees at all times. Your enthusiasm and energy to create the Krishna Conscious movement is an inspiration for all – please shower us your grace and mercy so that I may develop the purity in myself and render devotional service to Krishna and be able to exemplify your principle of “Purity is the Force”.
Still, I feel my efforts in this lifetime in the midst of the materialistic world around us may be insufficient for what Guru & Gauranga asks of me, and it is my humble prayer that I take birth always within the Vaishnav Sampradaya and get the association of devotees in each birth at the earliest possible to continue the journey you have started me on.
Please bestow your grace by accepting this humble offering and obeisances.
In heartfelt gratitude,
Your servant,

Jai srila prabhupada
Prabhupada You created krsna consciousness movement just like a magician using his magic wand
And gave this world something special that has a truly unique brand
Eager to fulfill the mission of your gurudev, you went through so much struggles
With immense faith in the holy names of the lord, you remained peaceful even in the midst of troubles.
You showed your love and care for people of various backgrounds and you did so much sacrifice
And gave them the topmost philosophy of the world without any deviation or compromise
Almost everyone around was confused about who they were and what they want and this wasn’t too odd.
You could see what they didn’t knew about themselves and revealed to them how they were parts and parcels of God.
Successful people boast of their achievements as if they have done in amples
What you did is no less than a miracle as in just 11 years you started 108 temples.
Organizations and religious groups strive hard to achieve global peace using some vision or some famous icon.
You created a house where whole world can live under the roof of ISKCON.
Many people come from all over the world to see the various places in the city of kolkatta
You made this city more glorious by starting your journey from here by jaladuta
Whether it’s chanting, kirtan, deities or association of devotees, the gifts you have given us are innumerable
We sincerely pray that we can serve you in some small way even though we feel ourselves incapable

Oh my dear Gurudev, pls accept my humble gratitude. Being krishna’s messenger you spread the nectar of krishna consciousness all over the world. You created lots of pure devotees who are inspiring the new generations as a serious vow near you. I am one of them who got enlightened by your devotees in a foreign land, Singapore. I took chanting the holy name seriously. I am learning the nectar of pure devotional service from your disciples in NUS programs. Devotion and teachings of your disciples has inspired my heart and soul. Whatever I am learning, I am trying to spread the nectar to my family, relatives and friends.
Oh Gurudev, I feel surprise that you appeared in my dream, although I am far poor in my devotion. Please bless me that I make you happy by fulfilling your hidden message by your personal appearance in my house. I am an extremely fallen being. Please bless me to get up and do service lord.

All glories to Srila Prabhupadh & all glories to Srila Gurudev,
My dear Grandfather, please accept my humble obeisances. I would like to apologize for my offence which i did before coming to KC. When i listened to your lectures for the first time before coming to KC, I heard the word rascal for the first time from a Swami and i started judging you, how could a swamiji can speak like this. I apologize from the bottom of my heart & please forgive me. After hearing your lectures again and again, my opinion was changed and now i love to hear that word again and again 🙂
I was amazed with your knowledge & philosophy. You always speak about krishna & never takes any credit whereas few other swamis projects themselves as a god. This attracted me lot & more over being Lord shiva devotee, It was unimaginable that someday I could be a devotee of krishna. This is all happened because of you & your philosophy & your mercy towards me. At such an old age you gave us lot & made our life beautiful. Thanks a lot for giving me this devotee congregation & giving hope that we can lead happy & spiritual life on this material world. Now i know the purpose of my life, please bless me & give mercy to me so that i can purify myself & devotee rest of my life & became instrument in your hands.

We are very thankful to Srila Prabhupada to start International Society of Krishna consciousness. I just now introduced to Krishna consiousness. The lesson you have given to us is amazing. At least I came to know about material life and spiritual life. Prema Manjari Mata ji generally talks about you. How and why did you go to USA and how much struggle u got in this journey. Today, we all are learning due to your blessings on us. Please keep giving your divine blessing to all of us.

To make us understand Krsna truly
So transcendental was His cause
That He could pulled us out of this worldly moss.
But are we really doing enough
Do we still have unquestionable faith during troughs
We really need to ponder
Before we start to wander.

Dear Srila Prabhupada,
My eternal master,
Please accept my humble obeisances at your divine lotus feet.
Because of your merciful disposition and the kindness of your followers, I have somehow wandered back into the vast arena of divine dispensation — the atmosphere of Goloka Vrndavana that you effortlessly carry about your person. Srila Prabhupada, you are a wonder to behold! I lie prostrate before you now.
And I am drowning in a sea of paradox. Your mercy is comprehensive and yet person specific. Your teachings are simple yet profoundly subtle and complex. Your wondrous ways and styles of behaviour seem clear and yet they sit far beyond anyone’s capacity to even try to imitate. Your love and care for the fallen souls is soft and gentle.
Please bless me because I want to serve your ISKCON till the last breadth of my life.

If only I could just do these two things in all earnestness- Humbly serve you and your mission and utilize all my so-called material prowess to glorify you – that would be perfection! But I am so caught up in the cesspool of material life that however hard I try, my own shortcomings pull me down.
But I have hope, Srila Prabhupada, in you. You have created my good fortune by coming into my life through your murti form, vani, books. And also by sending me mercy in the form of my Guru Maharaja, your beloved son, HH Jayapataka Swami Maharaja.
Although we do not have your physical presence amongst us any more but now more than ever before I can feel your presence in every single Krishna conscious moment of my life. No question that I ask of you goes unanswered. No prayer that I offer to you goes unheard. No grievances that I hold goes unresolved.
In one of your purports you have stated that even though we may not be Krishna conscious all the time, Krishna is always conscious of His devotees ALL the time. I extend this belief to you, Srila Prabhupada. However fallen I may be, however much I resist to extricate myself from this material labyrinth, I can say without any doubt that your helping hand to pull me out of this deep dark well of material existence is ALWAYS there. But I must remember that ultimately I have to fly my own airplane!
Thank you Srila Prabhupada for being there for me, for us. And if I do wander off from the path shown by you, then like a guiding father, caring mother, do what it takes to bring me back to the path that goes back to you, wherever you may be. You always say that one should have a desire to go back home, back to Krishna. That may be but somewhere deep within me is the desire to go back home, back to you Srila Prabhupada. That would be truly homecoming for me!
Thank you for your books.
Thank you for the deities.
Thank you for ISKCON.
Thank you for bringing into my life many of your genuine followers.
Thank you for coming Srila Prabhupada.
Thank you for coming into my life.
Let my appreciation for you grow every day and help me become your sincere and serious disciple.
Srila Prabhupada ki jaya!

Dear Srila Prabhupada, please accept our most humble and respectful obeisances unto the dust at your lotus feet.
If you would not have appeared then what would happen to our life, what we would do and whom we would serve. There is no word to express our gratitude for giving the cult of devotional service to supreme lord hare and Krishna. In spite of extreme difficulty and inconveniences due to advanced age and non-cooperation from many people you have carried forward the desire of Guru, Gauranga and Nytananda.
Thank you Srila Prabhupada for everything.
Your servants,

Dear Srila Prabhupad
PAMHO.
I am deeply indebted to you for the path of knowledge and truth that you have shown us. Through your books you made sure you are always with us, guiding us and us even though we are so fallen and sinful. When no the paths close your books and lectures show light even in the darkest times…thank you so much for giving us hope and motivating us to go back to godhead.”
Your servant,

This is Kamesh my material name, was introduced to Krishna Consciousness by my friend Lokeshwara prabhu, his initated name I don’t remember.
Before coming to ISKCON I was lacking direction in life, materially inclined, there was some deficiency in my life, which could not be figured out. I was looking for momentary happiness in the form of gossips, watching movies, watching cricket, still that hankering for happiness wasn’t subsided.
When I was introduced to this movement initially it was a shock to me. What is this, spirituality is for old people, young people aren’t much inclined to it. Then I came to know about Mangla arati, 16 rounds changting, Srimad Bhagawatam followed by nice feast served by devotees. Gradually I started attending sandhya arati followed by Bhagavad gita. This process of chanting and hearing was slowly accepted by me, or put in other way I was getting purified by Prasad, hearing and chanting. Slowly I started developed liking for this movement and started accepting in my life; the process is so powerful that I my hankering for material things is decreasing slowly and I am more happy now than when I was materially inclined.
The process is so beautiful that even my parents at home started accepting the process of offering food to lord and taking those remnants as Prasad by them. There is a notion by elderly people in my place that if you hear Srimad Bhagawatam you will die in seven days. But that notion is false. After hearing and reading Srimad Bhagawatam books by Srila Prabhupada I will recommend people to hear and read this great scripture from a bonafide source and start deriving the pleasure from it.
Gouranga Centre, at Singapore, led by Devaki Nandan Prabhu and Prema Manjari Mataji are really spearheading this movement for the true welfare of humanity.
All this could not happen if Prabhupada wasn’t there to give his instruction in the form of his books. I really give my heartfull obeisances to him from my bottom of my heart and thank him crores and crores of times.
Your servant,
Kamesh

Srila Prabhupad, allow us to offer our most humble and respectful obeisances unto you. All glory to your Divine grace.
Srila Prabhupad, we have no qualification whatsoever to glorify you in any way possible. We can only express our gratitude in little words to the extent that the good Lord allows us to. Please accept this offering just as how a loving grandfather accepts wishes from his grandchildren who don’t know anything.
Srila Prabhupad, your compassion towards other living entities is unparalleled. Though you could have very well finished your business in this material world and gone back to Krsna by staying in Vrindavan, you chose to follow the instructions of your Spiritual Master and at a ripe age when everyone else will think of enjoying their retirement you chose to travel the world risking your own life to present the teachings of Lord Krsna and Lord Chaitanya. In just a few years you wrote 100+ books, established 108 temples, initiated thousands of disciples and gave so many lectures. It is practically impossible for anyone else to replicate this! All glory to your Divine Grace!
Srila Prabhupad, your life is a teaching for all of us. Your perseverance in wanting to spread the message of Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam is simply amazing. You did not get dejected when people in India did not want to take up Krsna consciousness and you kept trying in so many different ways to take the message to the masses. You single handedly wrote articles in Back to Godhead magazine, proof read them, edited them, printed them AND distributed them. All this you did- not for your personal benefit but for the benefit of others. We cannot think of anyone who is more compassionate than you. You are compassion personified! The literature that you have left, as you said, will serve as law books for humanity for the next 10 thousand years. Every day when we read your translations of Srimad Bhagavatam, we feel so grateful to you for painstakingly translating every word and giving us your realizations in the form of purports. Every day, we feel amazed and can’t help but say “Jai Prabhupad!” after reading your purports. No one else can write such wonderful purports. But for your utmost compassion, the world would have been deprived of the wonderful Vedic literatures Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam. All glory to your Divine Grace!
Srila Prabhupad, you have created the International Society for Krsna Consciousness and in doing so you have created a global family of devotees all striving to please Lord Krsna in so many different ways. Your foresight in establishing the society with a specific timetable and activities is amazing. The way you have introduced Harinam in every activity that we do in the temples is so glorious. No words are enough to describe how much piety is being distributed to one and all that come in touch with the temple programs. You have literally made true Lord Chaitanya’s prophecy that His name will be chanted in every town and village. Going by the understanding that for every one person liberated, 7 generations before and after are liberated, we cannot even fathom how many generations of people have been liberated because of your causeless mercy. By your causeless mercy, thousands and thousands of people all over the world are engaged in Krsna bhakti. We don’t know how many people are being benefited indirectly by supplying flowers, vegetables, construction material and so many different things for the service of the Lord in the temples and centers that either you or your disciples have established. It is unimaginable! All glory to your Divine Grace!
Srila Prabhupad, we are realizing as we write this, how impossible it is for us to recount your glories. As we think more and more so many glorious deeds of yours are coming to mind that it is awe-inspiring to see how one person could have possibly achieved so many things in such a short span of time. Because of your causeless mercy, a fallen, conditioned soul like us has taken up the path of devotional service. Because of your mercy we were able to meet our Spiritual Master who was 100% dedicated to your divine grace. Because of you we met so many glorious devotees of the Lord and continue to be inspired by them. Because of you our families like so many other millions were introduced to Krsna bhakti. Because of you we are able to study wonderful Vedic literature coming in bona fide parampara. Because of you our hearts are being cleansed every day (cheto darpana marjanam) of so many dirty things that have accumulated over billions of lifetimes. Because of you we are accumulating sukruti to progress more in devotional service. Because of you we are waking up early in the morning and engaging in devotional activities. Because of you we have given up abominable habits. Because of you we are able to worship the good Lord every day and because of which, we are progressing in nivrtti marga. Because of you we are worshipping Tulasi Maharani. Because of you we are glorifying the Lord by chanting, singing, dancing, performing aarti and in so many different ways and thereby pleasing Him. Because of you we are given the opportunity to preach the Lord’s message to others. Because of you we have regulated our lives. Because of you we understood the real purpose and goal of human life. Because of you we came to human platform. Because of you we are able to honor prasadam every day. It is only because of you we are what we are today Srila Prabhupad!
Falling flat on the ground, our hands clasping your lotus feet, we want to offer our most humble, gratitude-filled Pranams to you Srila Prabhupad. Thank you for sacrificing your life so that millions of living entities like us can be benefitted in so many different ways. We are indebted to you for eternity!

Hare Krsna Maharaj, Please allow this tiny and insignificant servant to glorify Srila Prabhupada on this very auspicious occasion of his appearance day!
Srila Prabhupada, as mentioned in SB 1.1.10 the people in the material world are quarrelsome, lazy, misguided, unlucky and, above all, always disturbed.
prāyeṇālpāyuṣaḥ sabhya
kalāv asmin yuge janāḥ
mandāḥ sumanda-matayo
manda-bhāgyā hy upadrutāḥ
Translation: O learned one, in this iron age of Kali men have but short lives. They are quarrelsome, lazy, misguided, unlucky and, above all, always disturbed.
The devotees of the Lord are always anxious for the spiritual improvement of the general public.
Although you were going through lot of challenges in the family due to lack of support, your business plans were failing, preaching in India was not successful because Indians on those days either they were too absorbed in politics, too ignorant of their spiritual heritage, or too crippled by poverty to seriously access Krsna Consciousness.
You were able to corss through everything because you had unflinching faith in Krsna and also you never become tired of all these problems of the material world throughout your different stages like young, middle age and old.
My Guru Maharaj said that one who is strong in devotional service, never budge into the material problems.
For a grahastha, if he don’t have enough support in the family or adequate job, not both, even either one of them is not proper, eventually he will be vanished in the material pool.
When Narada muni was 5 years old, his mother was taken from the world by the supreme will in order to put him completely at the mercy of the Lord. In SB 1.6.10, it is mentioned that Narada muni took this as the special mercy of the Lord, who always desires benediction for His devotees.
tadā tad aham īśasya
bhaktānāḿ śam abhīpsataḥ anugrahaḿ manyamānaḥ
prātiṣṭhaḿ diśam uttarām
Translation: I took this as the special mercy of the Lord, who always desires benediction for His devotees, and so thinking, I started for the north.
Also in SB 1.6.13 mentioned that Narada muni passed(day and night) alone through many forests of rushes, bamboo, reeds, sharp grass, weeds and caves, which were very difficult to go through alone. I visited deep, dark and dangerously fearful forests, which were the play yards of snakes, owls and jackals.
But Narada muni was never afraid of all these problems while passing through deep, dark and dangerously fearful forestets in spite of being so young and just 5 years old.
What to speak of deep dark forest, I’m afraid just being alone in my own house 🙂
Similarly Prabhupada, never afraid even when he get seasickness and two heart attacks in Sea while travelling to west in Jaladuta in spite of his old age. Prabhupada had always considered all these problems are the special mercy of the Lord, who always desires benediction for His devotees.
Finally Krsna had no way except allowing Prabhupada and empowering to open hundreds of temples throughout the world, spreading Krsna consciousness and glorifying Krsna 24X7.
Like Narada muni had a faith in the knowledge imparted by the great sages, similarly Srila Prabhupada had a faith in the instruction of his Spiritual Master. That’s why both of them were successful in attaining and glorifying Krsna.
My Guru Maharaj said that in the material world, if there is great personality( but not a devotee), he will be remembered until he die or may be for one generation… people would forgot him very soon. But for Prabhupada being a great devotee of the good Lord, everyday arathi is going on in ghee lamp across the world 24X7.
Prabhupada, you will be remembered for next thousands and thousands of years, people will follow you instructions and read your books generation after generation, yuga after yuga for their own benefits and save themselves from the material misery. And you will be glorified like Narada muni and Sukadev Goswami who are pure devotees of the lord. May the good Lord Krsna should make it happen, If not for many reasons, at least for one reason that you presented Krsna as it is and your transcendental purports are ever fresh and amazing!
All these were possible, because your devotional service unto your Spiritual Master and Krsna was unmotivated and uninterrupted as mentioned in SB 1.2.6
sa vai puḿsāḿ paro dharmo
yato bhaktir adhokṣaje
ahaituky apratihatā
yayātmā suprasīdati
Translation: The supreme occupation [dharma] for all humanity is that by which men can attain to loving devotional service unto the transcendent Lord. Such devotional service must be unmotivated and uninterrupted to completely satisfy the self.
In this very auspicious day, please forgive me if there are any offences done by me, and bless me to follow my Spiritual Master’s instructions as the life and soul, and understand Krsna and his pastimes through my Spiritual Master as mentioned in your transcendental purports, and serve Guru, Krsna and his devotees.

Dear Srila Prabhupada,
Your mercy is all I know, and is definitely worth knowing. I experienced true happiness only after meeting your followers.
Before I came to Krishna Consciousness, I always felt emptiness. But Dearest Srila Prabhupada, you gave us the opportunity to experience the highest bliss in service to Lord Krishna and his followers.
By Your causeless mercy, we managed to attend the 40th anniversary of Sri Krishna Balarama temple’s opening, this year. It was a great festival. There, every one of us was drinking the nectarean memories of Your Divine Grace and Krishna Balarama Mandir. While speaking of the struggle You went through to establish the Krishna Balarama Temple, Your disciples mentioned that Your Divine Grace utilized everything and everyone in Lord Krishna’s service. Such is Your power and mercy!
This 40th anniversary celebration gave us the opportunity to serve so many of Your disciples. Thank you Srila Prabhupada, for giving us this Krishna Conscious life. We are eternally indebted and forever grateful to You. Please bless me that I will always be engaged to in the service of the Vaishnavas.

Dear Srila Prabhupada,
On this most auspicious day of your Vyasa-puja, I beg to offer my most fallen obeisance at your lotus feet. It’s always a wonderful opportunity to glorify you, though am not capable of doing so. Even the demigod’s fall short of words to glorify the glories of a pure Vaishnava who has completely immersed himself in following the instructions of his spiritual master. It is indeed difficult rather impossible to understand the glories of a pure devotee of the Supreme Personality of Godhead who only breathes and relishes the wonderful pastimes of the Lord.
You are a pure devotee of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Whatever divine qualities are there in the pure devotees of the Supreme Lord Krishna, all those qualities are present within you. In Siksastakam Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu sings:
trnad api sunicena, taror api sahishnuna,
amanina manadena, kirtaniya sada hari
O! Rupanuga, O! Srila Bhagavatpada, all these qualities are present in you. Not only you have these qualities but also unlimited divine qualities are there with you. I have an ultimate desire in this life to serve you with my mind and body. I feel so very fortunate to have come in contact with a bona fide spiritual master as you. By taking shelter of the lotus feet of his divine grace, I have been able to understand the ultimate goal of human life. For this I shall remain ever indebted to your divine grace.
You showed everyone the great importance of your many children, the children of your disciples. They are so dear to you. These children taking birth from Hare Kṛṣṇa devotee parents are indeed your children, your “reinforcements” coming to help establish Lord Caitanya’s mission on earth. To love them, protect them, and guide them is our most important service to you. They are the future of Lord Caitanya’s movement.
I can only pray that I will always stay connected to your divine effluence. Though you have so many disciples all over the world, I beg you to please give your causeless mercy to me first, because I am the most fallen and the most insignificant soul.

Dear Srila Prabhupada,
Please accept my humble obeisances at your lotus feet.
All glories to your divine teachings and to your wonderful mission of spreading Lord Caitanya’s movement to every town and village.
I was listening to your divine grace lecture. You have revealed the real picture of my fallen condition in this world. I have got lots of desires in my heart. I am captivated in the subject matters of sense gratification and puffed up by false pride.
Srila Prabhupada you very boldly said, you are all demons, now you all must give up these demoniac habits and take up your divine nature as eternal devotees of Lord Krsna.
Who, hearing your invitation, could decline to accept?
You made your invitation in such a way that anyone who listens to the instructions of your books will immediately get enlightened.
Economic development and sense gratification have clearly proven to be but illusory goals for human society. Spiritual reawakening of one’s Krsna Consciousness, this is the real goal for human society.
Please bless me that I will be able to fully absorb myself only in serving your wonderful mission.

Srila Prabhupada, if not for you who have been so merciful to have come to this degraded world period to tell us about Krishna consciousness and the way to be free from the cycle of birth and death by chanting the holy name of the lord. You went through so much of trouble to translate so many books about krsna and his pastime during those last years of your life. Through your transcendental books, you allowed us to be with you through your disciples guide. I cannot even say how much we should be indebted you for all you have for us.
Please give us your blessing and mercy so that we will always be in the service of Sri Sri Guru and Krishna.

Srila Prabhupada Ki Jai!
Dear Srila Prabhupada,
Please accept our humble obeisances. All glories to your Divine Grace.
We are grateful to your Divine Grace and our spiritual master for giving us an opportunity to glorify your Divine Grace on the most auspicious occasion of your Divine Grace’s appearance day.
We express our deep gratitude for all that your Divine Grace has given us to make our lives perfect in the service of Vaisnavas and in remembrance of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krsna and finally return home in the eternal service of Your Divine Grace and your Divine Grace’s servants.
We started our journey in Krsna consciousness 8 years back when we met devotees in Singapore Iskcon Yatra and ever since by your Divine Grace’s mercy and blessings, somehow or the other we are being engaged in Krsna consciousness.
We met our spiritual master, HH Mahavishnu Gosvami Maharaj in 2008 and Maharaj was kind enough to give us shelter. His most important instructions have been to seriously study your Divine Grace’s books, follow your Divine Grace’s instructions and never leave the shelter of your Divine Grace’s lotus feet. He would say that this is the only sure shot formula to go back home, back to Godhead. Ever since we have been trying to follow these instructions but due to our own laziness and lack of seriousness, we are struggling to keep ourselves afloat in Krsna consciousness.
This year has been particularly challenging for us Srila Prabhupada as we faced lot of difficulties and continue facing them due to our own sinful activities. We have realized that without attempting to follow your Divine Grace’s instructions, it would have been impossible for us to survive these waves and whirlpools of material miseries. By your Divine Grace’s mercy, every day we are trying to read at least some part of your Divine Grace’s books, mostly Bhagavad Gita As It Is or Srimad Bhagavatam and whatever we read and understand helps us to withstand the difficulties without breaking down. We are really grateful to your Divine Grace that through these transcendental books, we have your Divine Grace’s protection at every second of our existence.
Another challenge we are facing is in chanting our rounds sincerely, Srila Prabhupada. Somehow or the other, we are just mumbling our rounds and going through the motion of sixteen rounds. There is no sense of urgency or seriousness in our chanting. As a result, we are not having the taste to chant. We pray that by your Divine Grace’s mercy, somehow or the other, we develop the seriousness and are able to regulate our dirty minds that is not allowing to concentrate on the holy names and keeps distracting us when we are trying to chant. Srila Prabhupada, we are really feeling helpless and have no other recourse than to surrender at your Divine Grace’s lotus feet and beg for mercy.
Srila Prabhupada, we understand from your Divine Grace’s writings and letters that serving vani is more important than vapu but due to our personal weakness and may be lack of complete faith in the process, we always seek personal association of devotees to help us encourage. That is why we feel unfortunate that we could not have the fortune of personal physical association of your Divine Grace as well as we were not fortunate to have much association of our spiritual master.
Srila Prabhupada, we pray at your Divine Grace’s lotus feet to kindly pull us up from this mire of faithlessness so we get the spiritual strength to come above the material modes and then be established firmly in devotional service. As one devotee has sung,
samsaara kupe patito athi aghaadhe
mohandha poorne vishayabhitapte
karaavalambam mama dehi visnu
govinda damodara madhaveti
We are trying to gather all our sincerity to pray to your Divine Grace’s lotus feet to always keep us engaged in devotional service and beg for your Divine Grace’s mercy to become sincere devotees.

Dearest Srila Prabhupäda,
Every day we are immersed in the sound of your voice, your words and instructions. We are so very grateful for the books and the mercy that you have given us and allowing us to feel your presence in these ways.
Our prayer to you today, Srila Prabhupada, is this:
• Please never let our enthusiasm wane, but daily let it be rekindled anew.
• Please never let our determination falter, but daily let us stay focused and committed to our Spritual Master and the devotees.
• Please never let the flame of our devotion flicker, but daily please help it keep growing into a blazing fire that will burn to “practically nil” all our illusions, material attachments, and anarthas.
• Please help keep us from falling into Vaishava aparädha.

Dear Srila Prabhupada
On the blessed occasion of your vyasa puja celebrations 50 years after your journey on the Jaladuta, we would like to express our most sincere gratitude at your lotus feet. You appeared in this mortal world for the only purpose of delivering conditioned and most fallen souls like us. We are your grandchildren, having taken shelter under the secure shade of HH Radhanath Swami Maharaj.
This year is the 50th anniversary of the year when you took an epic journey from India to the western world, against all odds and after making so many personal sacrifices, to preach the eternal message of Lord Caitanya to one and all without any distinction. You took on so much pain and personal trouble for the sake of sowing the seed of devotion for the Lord. Your loving care and compassion changed so many hearts and blossomed into a wonderful family of devotees worldwide.
Prabhupada, we feel most unfortunate that we could not have your personal association. But through your most exalted disciples and their disciples we see you always. We also feel your presence through your teachings, your invaluable books and the most wonderful association of loving and compassionate vaishnavas that you have given us. Without your books and teachings we would never have got the opportunity to even begin to try and appreciate Bhagvat Gita As It Is or attempt to relish the sweetness of the teachings of Srimad Bhagavatam and Caitanya Caritamrta. Because of you we have got the most invaluable opportunity to serve their Lordships Sri Jagannatha Baladev and Subhadra Mai although we are most unqualified to do so.
Despite all your compassion and mercy, we are struggling in maintaining our sadhana due to our intense conditioning. We pray at your lotus feet that we might get the strength and right intelligence to strengthen the foundation of our sadhana and hope to become sincere devotees one day. We also promise you today that we will dedicate our efforts in cooperating with all the devotees to further your mission of spreading the teachings of Lord Caitanya to everyone.
With most sincere gratitude from your most unqualified grandchildren,

Dear and Respected Srila Prabhupada,
Please accept my prostrated humble obeisances at Your divine lotus feet, having taken shelter of Your lotus feet, one become relieved from the fire of material existence and ultimately gets shelter at the lotus feet of Sri Krsna in His eternal dham, Goloka Vridavan.
Srila Prabhupada, Senior vaishnavas have requested me to write an offering on Your transcendental appearance day however Srila Prabhupada, I totally feel incompetent and unqualified to write something in Your transcendental glories, thus I humble bow down at Your lotus feet, kindly bless me that I may write appropriately that pleases Lord Hari.
Dear Srila Prabhupada, It was somewhere in year 1995, when I first visited the temple, I didn’t know it was temple then. I was returning from my school and I don’t remember what struck me that I took a turn toward the temple. I parked my bicycle, took off my shoes and entered the temple. It was late afternoon most of the devotees where not around, I entered the temple hall, it was empty and the altar was closed, except Your altar.
I slowly started walking towards Your altar and then I saw You, sitting high on vayas asana, Your eyes closed in deep meditation, Your forehead decorated with fragrant chandan, a grey shawl covering Your transcendental head and leaning over your shoulders. In respect, I folded my palms, I was a bit scared and I was wondering if you would suddenly open your eyes. I moved on to the parikrama marg not knowing that I was actually circumambulating Sri Sri Radha Madav ji.
I was slightly scared as the temple was completely empty and I was wondering if someone was following me. I came from the other side of the parikrama marg and looked at you and left the temple premises.
After 7 years, I came to the temple again, this time, I not only saw the devotees, I had a great fortune of hearing & chanting Hare Krsna Mantra, honoring sumptuous prasadam and getting my new neckbeads which I loved the most.
Srila Prabhupada, I have heard from devotees that one comes to Krsna Consicousness not by chance but by some form of past life sukriti or causeless mercy of devotees. I don’t remember anything from my past life however I do remember taking Your transcendental darshan.
Srila Prabhupada, had it not been Your transcendental darshan, that culminated into bringing me closer to Krsna, I would have certainly be burning in frustration with no real peace, arising due to the dualities of this material world. Srila Prabhupada, This is certainly your magnanimity that You have kindly allowed me to be in this Krsna Consciousness movement and to have association of gem like devotees of Krsna.
Srila Prabhupada, You have taken a great and difficult task to preach Krsna Consciousness to English speaking countries, at an advance age in Your life when most of the people have retired, trying to relax and enjoy family life. When most of the people are unhappy about the economy class, air conditioned seats in well to do airlines and complain about poor customer service, you have disregarded all the personal conveniences and boarded a cargo ship, enduring sea sickness and 2 heart attacks on voyage to America apparently alone in cold New York risking Your life, not to make wealth or American dream but to please Your spiritual master and to deliver conditioned living entities from the clutches of maya. You have written volumes of books and opened so many Temples for the pleasure of Your Gurudev and Krsna and to give conditioned living entity a chance to come closer to Krsna and return to back home, back to godhead.
Srila Prabhupada, as You have written in preface of Bhagavad Gita As It Is, “We hope, therefore, that people will derive the greatest benefit by studying Bhagavad-gītā As It Is as we have presented it here, and if even one man becomes a pure devotee of the Lord, we shall consider our attempt a success.”
Srila Prabhupada, certainly Your attempts have already been successful, for many souls have been sent back home by Your grace however when I read Your words, I feel that You are personally instructing me to become pure devotee. Srila Prabhupada, I try to hear Hari Katha every day, attend regular programs at center, and try to serve the devotees and deity cooperatively. Srila Prabhupada, I certainly have long way to become a pure devotee given my conditioned nature and help You in Your attempt to be successful.
Just like a bird cannot fathom an unlimited sky so do, Srila Prabhupada, Your transcendental glories are cannot be fathomed. I therefore humbly bow down and pray at Your lotus feet for Your causeless blessings to kindly enable me to become a pure devotee of Lord Krsna for Your and Their Lordships pleasure.

Dear Srila Prabhupada,
Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to you on this auspicious day of your vyasapuja.
Srila Prabhupada, by your mercy, writings and teachings, we are trying to understand teaching of Srimad Bhagavat Gita/Srimad Bhagavatam.
Before reading your transcendental books, only thing which we were taught about BG was ‘karma karo phal ki ichsha mat karo i.e. do your duty and don’t hanker for results’. After coming in association of the devotees & by reading your divine books and hearing your transcendental lectures, we are since past few years, trying to engage ourselves in devotional service to Guru and Gauranga.
Even though since childhood we were inclined and trained towards pooja and other ritual processes, after coming in contact with your teachings, we could understand how sublime the devotional process is.
By your divine grace and arrangements, we could participate in wonderful Jagannath Ratha Yatra and other festivals in Singapore.
We pray at your feet to keep us engaged in devotional service somehow or other though we know how many shortcoming we have which we hope will be removed over a period of time by sincere chanting of the Lords name.
Your insignificant servants,

To,
His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada.
Please accept our humble obeisances,
All glories to your Divine Grace.
It is by the mercy of your Divine grace and our spiritual master that we are getting this opportunity to glorify your Divine Grace on this most auspicious occasion of your Divine Grace’s appearance day.
Dear Srila Prabhupada, on this most auspicious appearance day of your Divine Grace we would first of all like to express our eternal gratitude for all that your Divine Grace has done for us.
Srila Prabhupada, by your Divine Grace’s mercy and blessings we are able to humbly serve in Gopal’s Garden, the children’s programme at Singapore Iskcon yatra. The teachers of Gopal’s Garden under the loving guidance of Her grace Radhika Mataji and His grace Devakinandan Prabhuji have always instructed and guided us to follow your Divine Grace’s instructions. It has actually been a wonderful journey where we have been learning at every step and we pray that this continues eternally.
Srila Prabhupada, our children from Gopal’s Garden are all extraordinary and vaikuntha children in disguise. They are all great souls who have come to remind us and help us to keep a check on our behaviour and etiquette and to help us follow your Divine Grace’s instructions. These children have a keen eye to keep a check on us as they imitate and imbibe what has been taught to them. More than learning from us by hearing, they actually watch and learn more from our actions. Frankly, we are students Srila Prabhupada. We learn to humble ourselves and we realize the importance of humility as humility is the most important quality required to cultivate Krsna consciousness.
Srila Prabhupada, we are thankful to your Divine Grace for everything and we pray at your lotus feet that we remain eternally engaged in your Divine Grace’s service and in the service of vaisnavas and this way please your Divine Grace in our own puny capacity.

PAMHO AGTSP
All glories to everyone on this auspicious day of Vyasapuja. I offer my respectful obeisances unto the lotus feet of H.G Srila Prabhupada who directed me to the purest Krishna Conscious path.
All his books that I read are easily understood which opened my mind and heart. I can also see how far I have come in Krishna Conscious.
I am extremely fortunate that Supreme Lord Krishna revealed the truth about Bhakti to me in the form of Prabhupada’s books, without his books I would have been still wandering for some sort of truth or happiness.
I thought Devotional Service to be some kind of regimental and rigid practice. But, I understood that it is the most blissful practice which is full of adornment towards the Lord and eternal.
From my bottom of my heart, I sincerely pray that all of us go back to GODHEAD.
Jai Prabhupad!
Thank you
H.G Srila Prabhupada!
Your Humble Servant,

All glories to Gurudev and Gauranga|
Dear Srila Prabhupada,
A very happy Appearance day to you on behalf of a fallen soul like me!
You entered in my life some 9 years before and everything changed since then. Slowly and steadily yours teachings, your preaching, your kirtan tunes, your translated books, yours glorification- all enhanced the taste for Shri Radha Shyam Sundar’s bhakti which was nourished by my parents earlier in my life.
Yours matchless “KRISHNA” book takes me in different world. Yours “Nector of Devotion” puts my inner-self unfolded before my eyes. Many books written on your life gives the way to have a glimpse that how a devotee’s life should be. While reading these books I can feel you narrating every word, sentence, composition dipped in devotional love and ecstasy.
Yours incomparable foundation ISKCON is biggest gift to society. Every devotee not only feels connected to Krishna and YOU through ISKCON but to overall devotees in the entire world. Universal attire, universal practices, universal rules & regulations, universal prasadam and universal Maha Mantra within ISKCON irrespective of creed cast and religion broadcasts the sense of ‘Lord of the universe- Lord Krishna’ magnanimously.
You developed the sense of devotees’ interdependency by famous saying ‘servant of the servant of the …….servant of the Lord’ and for today’s humanity it could be Yug-dharma to follow it in order to get rid of all kinds of miseries based on differences among human beings.
Personally, I do not find any qualification in myself to serve Krishna, YOU and devotees at all! I am full of evil desires and selfishness and have done countless random misdeeds. I am ignorant in every sense and practically involved in all mundane tasks. I spend my senses everywhere else except meditating upon Krishna and YOU. Out of all gray shades my only will is- ‘never to depart from you and your teachings’. I am full of firm belief that despite of all my discrepancies admitted here, I have a ray of hope and that is “YOU”.
Yours ‘One Lord(Krishna)’, ‘One Mantra(Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare| Hare Ram Hare Ram Ram Ram Hare hare||’, ‘One cast(servant)’, ‘one food(Prasadam)’ and one goal(Back to godhead) are “one integrated solution” to all the material world’s existing problems. In my simple and humble offering I heartily request you that please engage me in spreading your Krishna Consciousness message best to your mercy.
Yours mere humble servant(s),

Dear Prabhupad,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Your Divine Grace on this most auspicious day of your Appearance!
It is an honor to glorify His Divine Grace. There is no glorification that I can express that is worthy of you. Kindly accept this simple poem and prayer from my heart.
PRABHUPAD
Praise our merciful Lord Krishna for sending His dearest
to deliver us – the shameless, thoughtless and lowest
Remembering the divine instruction of your spiritual master
round the globe you travelled to save us from disaster
All fortunate souls whom you have given darshan to
describe you as a gift that keeps giving mercy
that one should hold on to
Bagavat Gita As it is, Sirmad Bhagavatham and many other books
made meaning to us only by the support
of your transcendental pupports
Holding on to your spiritual master’s lotus feet
you showed us how the spreading of the
sankirtana mission of Lord Caitanya is so sweet
Unmotivated chanting of the holy name you say
is the only way in Krishna’s abode we will stay
Practicing sincerely what you preached, beautiful temples you built
and invited way wards like me to enter without guilt
All these and many more you’ve done
and in our hearts you will never be gone
Dearest Prabhupad, thank you.
I am eternally grateful to you.
Please help this fallen, envious soul
by reappearing in my heart so that I
inspire myself and others to take residence at your lotus feet eternally.
From your servant,
Mayuri Devi Dasi
To our beloved eternal Founder Acarya Srila Prabhupada,
Please accept our most humble prostrated obeisances at your lotus feet

Srila Prabhupada, on this glorious day of your blessed anniversary of your appearance in this world, please kindly accept our puny attempts to glorify Your Divine Grace.
Your spiritual achievements in benefitting this planet is unfathomable.
Without you, this world would have lost all hope a long time ago. Except for the pure devotees of the Supreme Lord Krishna, there is no guiding light in this dark and forbidding age of Kali. Due to your causeless mercy, you have set in motion a movement for spiritually re-energising mankind, and that will last for ten thousand years, and deliver millions of living entities in due course.
Without you, Srila Prabhupada, we would not know who Krishna is. We would not know what constitutes devotional service and how sublime this process is.
Without you, Srila Prabhupada, we would never have Bhagavad Gita or Srimad Bhagavatam or Caitanya Caritamrta, as they should be. These brilliant spiritual literatures would have been locked up for centuries and never see the light of the day and reach out to millions; in so doing, you have made the Supreme Lord instantly available and accessible to one and all!
Personally, I struggled so much in my spiritual life, searching for a spiritual movement that could offer me what to do at every juncture of the day, and of my life. By Your Divine Grace’s causeless mercy, I found it in your transcendental books, and it showed me the way out of darkness, and gave me hope and inspiration to live meaningfully and understand the true value of human existence.
Most of all, we thank you unlimitedly for showing us to the lotus feet of our eternal spiritual master, and giving us a system of parampara that will doubtlessly bring us back to Godhead. You heard our plaintive cries for a spiritual master who could deliver us, and you spoke through the pages of your Srimad Bhagavatam into our hearts, heard our prayers and gifted us with guru.
Please be kind to us, and keep us always under the cooling shade of your lotus feet. Please grant us the strength to see the hand of the Lord at every juncture of our lives, and to serve you in unity throughout this world.
Finally, in Singapore, please give us strength to push this movement forward such that we fit instruments in your hands and become steady and pure devotees at the lotus feet of our spiritual masters.

Dearest Srila Prabhuada,
Please accept our humble dandavats at your divine lots feet. All glories to Your Divine Grace.
It is only by the Supreme Lord’s mercy that we are getting the opportunity to make this offering unto the Lord’s most beloved devotee – Your Divine Grace. We pray at the lotus feet of our Spiritual Master to allow us to sincerely glorify Your Divine Grace.
Srila Prabhupada, in thanking you we do not know where to start. Born as animals in a human body, it is only by your mercy that we now have the chance to live as humans. We are in your debt for the rest of eternity.
Srila Prabhupada, we want to take this opportunity to reflect in gratitude on all that you have blessed us with.
1. Spiritual Master – we would never have come in touch with a bonafide Guru if it was not for your mercy in reestablishing the parampara system in the western world. The greatest fortune of a living entity is when he contacts a pure representative of The Lord. Through your mercy, despite us being in the most fallen condition, we got this chance which is rarely available even to the Gods. How is it that persons like us can receive such mercy? It is only possible through the mercy of an unlimitedly merciful Acharya.
2. Books – Your greatest contribution. We would be still be swirling in the filth of refuse matter if we had not come in touch with your transcendental books which you worked on tirelessly so that laymen like us could benefit from the profound message of Godhead.
3. Srimad Bhagavatam – For us personally this is the crown jewel of your divine grace’s mercy on us. Srila Prabhupada, no ordinary man can translate this transcendental literature, and if I may say, no one of this world can write such purports. Through the darkest days of our lives these purports have been our only shelter. From gross to subtle, your Srimad Bhagavatam gives the living entity everything that he needs in any of the worlds, both material and spiritual. Your purports are like cool breezes which pacify our stormed minds and purify our polluted existence. We pray at your divine lotus feet that we never leave the shelter of this literature which you have so mercifully prepared for us.
4. Kirtan – Srila Prabhupada, you changed the world with just this – The holy name and a pair of kartals. Your faith in the holy name purified the atmosphere of this world. By your achievements you proved that this is no ordinary sound. We imitate you by also chanting, but when will we also chant with faith? While being thankful to youl for introducing us to kirtan, we also profusely beg for your mercy to perform this seva only for the pleasure of Krsna, and to have faith that He is non-different from His name.
5. Character and Behaviour – Even though we are far from the ideals you have set; your grace has redefined how our very being works. You have created a revolution in our misdirected lives Srila Prabhupada. You have forced us to think about behaving as humans. For so many lifetimes we acted as animals, and only after coming in touch with you and all your different aspects of mercy have we moved toward the direction set for actual humans. Please bless us so that we never become blemishes on your spotless transcendental legacy.
Srila Prabhupada, with your permission, we would like to offer the following prayer from Srimad Bhagavatam, SB 3.15.39,
kṛtsna-prasāda-sumukhaṁ spṛhaṇīya-dhāma
snehāvaloka-kalayā hṛdi saṁspṛśantam
śyāme pṛthāv urasi śobhitayā śriyā svaś-
cūḍāmaṇiṁ subhagayantam ivātma-dhiṣṇyam
“The Lord is the reservoir of all pleasure. His auspicious presence is meant for everyone’s benediction, and His affectionate smiling and glancing touch the core of the heart. The Lord’s beautiful bodily color is blackish, and His broad chest is the resting place of the goddess of fortune, who glorifies the entire spiritual world, the summit of all heavenly planets. Thus it appeared that the Lord was personally spreading the beauty and good fortune of the spiritual world.”
Srila Prabhupada, just like the Lord you conquered the world through your unlimited transcendental qualities. And your grace truly spread and is still spreading the beauty and good fortune of the spiritual world for the benefit of unlimited hankering souls.
We pray at the lotus feet of our spiritual master to never lose sight of your mercy and to be always grateful for it at every stage of our lives.
The servants of your servant,

Dear Srila Prabhupada
Please accept my most humble obeisance at your lotus divine feet.
All glories to Sri Sri Radha Govinda! All glories all glories to Sri Sri guru and Gauranga! All glories to Srila Prabhupada!
This year I have the wonderful opportunity of writing an offering to you on the occasion of your Vyasa Puja and the 50th anniversary of your journey to the west. You survived two heart attacks. Most people would have given up or died but you Srila Prabhupada kept yourself going because you carried an important mission and message to share to the world- The message of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, Bhakti Vinod thakur and all the Vaisnava Acharyas that Lord Krishna name will be chanted in every town and village and today Krishna’s name can be heard in all the corners of the world.
So I thank you for what you have done and without you translating the books and preaching to the west I would not be here. I will not have known about Krsna and will not have a chance to go back to Godhead. So I once again thank you on this wonderful opportunity.
Yours most humble servant,
Govinda das
MY OFFERING TO SRILA PRABHUPADA
Dearest Srila Prabhupada,
Prabhupada, you are the founder of the ISKCON movement. You gave the whole world love along with Krishna consciousness. Some people took it others did not though the ones who did were very successful and lucky in life and became devotees. You committed yourself to preaching to the western civilization and suffered 2 heart attacks on the way to America. You are such a great devotee that when you visited Dr. Mishra’s house you simply took out the onions in the food and continued eating. Nobody can replace you, Srila Prabhupada as you are one of a kind and no one could come close to even doing a fraction of what you have done.

MY OFFERING TO SRILA PRABHUPADA
Dear Srila Prabhupada,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to your Divine Grace.
My name is Sangeeta and I am from Singapore. Today I would like to glorify you as you are a humble and tolerant devotee and have spread the Krishna consciousness around the whole world. Without you, there will be no Krishna conscious devotees in this material world. I want to go back to Krishna Loka to be happy but I have to follow the 4 regulative principles before that. The 4 rules are- no illicit connection, no intoxication, no gambling and no meat eating. I have given up all this but I still find it hard to cope with chanting the holy name as I have to cope with my homework and chant. I am only chanting 1 round a day but sometimes I do 3 rounds as I have more time as my school ends at normal time.
Hare Krishna Srila Prabhupada! Please continue to guide me.
Yours servant,
Sangeeta Devi Dasi

The lotus feet of our spiritual master are the only way by which we can attain pure devotional service. I bow to his lotus feet with great awe and reverence. By his grace one can cross the ocean of material suffering and obtain the mercy of Krsna.
guru-mukha-padma-vakya, cittete koriya aikya,

My only wish is to have my consciousness purified by the words emanating from his lotus mouth. Attachment to his lotus feet is the perfection that fulfills all desires.

He opens my darkened eyes and fills my heart with transcendental knowledge. He is my Lord birth after birth. From him ecstatic prema emanates; by him ignorance is destroyed. The Vedic scriptures sing of his character.

Our spiritual master is the ocean of mercy, the fiend of the poor, and the lord and master of the devotees. O master! Be merciful unto me. Give me the shade of your lotus feet. Your fame is spread all over the three worlds.
